anyone no the deal with this and a lemon law?, The first time dealer had mine for 14 weeks, 3 car payments and no loaner. Going to drop it off again, all hinges and now the bottom of the doors and edges of the hood.

is it three repairs or it a time limit there also?

Check your states lemon law. Most are 20 - 30 days out of service to qualify. Your lemon has more than qualified at this point.

So I can buy a zinc bolt, put it in my frame somewhere, and if it's electrolysis it will seek the zinc metal?

This person appears to be extremely confused. Electrolysis is using electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. This has nothing to do with the issues in the thread.

Their solution would be a fix for galvanic corrosion. An metal that is more anodic than aluminum and steel will sacrifice itself and protect the metal in the door.

It will do nothing for your door / hinge if you attached it your frame, or over paint. It needs to bond directly to the door metals.

I'm STILL waiting to get mine fixed. Coming up on 10 months. I gave up on the crappy local dealer I was trying to work with because they kept moving me down their "list", I think in favor of repainting their own inventory that came in on trade. I was Mr. Nice Guy with them and showed a lot of patience but only up to a certain point when it was clear that they were jerking me around. So a few weeks ago I went back to the dealer where I bought my JL, which is a pretty good drive from here, and now I'm on their list which I was told was 2-3 months deep. That will bring me up to one year of fighting to get this fixed. What a load of garbage (@JeepCares, feel free to pass this up the chain).

I'm telling everyone I know to buy a Wrangler with their eyes open. 202 pages of a paint bubbling thread on this forum alone, to say nothing of other forums, reddit, etc.

My biggest concern is that our Jeeps will decrease in value after the repair. I hope it is done right and done well. If not, we all lose, and it's entirely due to Jeep's poor quality control - and we pay the price for it. Jeep really needs to step up, and I think corporate is trying to sweep it under the rug and let the dealers deal with it - and some of the dealers are providing really poor customer service for it. Jeep is probably hoping to reduce their costs for making this right, and it has to be a huge amount of money judging from the number of reports I've seen for this problem.

I wonder how that class action lawsuit is proceeding?

No one has ever brought up the fact that this might be electrolysis. I come from a marine background and that's what it looks like to me. Any current flowing through the fame or body is going to seek the softest metal, in this case aluminum. Give it a softer metal and it will go to it. I think I will just drop by a marine supplier and buy a "zinc" and bolt it to my frame. Can't hurt.

I recently purchased a zinc marine disc to attach to the frame. I also have full aluminum skid plates. Hoping those skid plates, which are direct mounted to the frame will absorb some of the galvanic reaction…who knows. Jeep is 40 months old…no bubbles yet. The minute corrosion appears, I’m dumping the thing….not sure another Jeep is in my future, especially with pricing where it is and ongoing quality struggles. I’ve only have a couple of issues other than phantom periodic electrical glitches, but both issues could have been catastrophic had they happened while off-roading in a remote area (fuel line leak and loose WO bolts)

The warranty is good for 5 years from the date that the vehicle was first sold. Doesn't matter how many owners or how many miles it has on it.

Depends on the build date. 60 months I believe. Look at the sticker on your driver side door jamb.

It's a good indicator. If you don't know when it was first sold. But you might still be within the 60 months.

Most dealers sublet this. Only if the dealer has it's own body shop will they do it in house.

Yeah of course but it's just a meme level of depreciation. People are spending 2k less to buy a 3 year old jeep with 40k on the clock than if they just bought new.
