You have a pic of your hinge that shows a gasket?
No, but you can easily identify them, I instantly spotted the black line and even a shred of gasket past the contact area on one. Sorry, but this old tech dummy doesn’t know how to post pics.?

I don’t know if it’s been fixed at the factory. I assume so but only time will tell of course.
With how long it seems to take to get an order into production, hopefully the 2023's (or at least the later produced ones) will have this issue sorted. But agree, only time will tell. Unless and until people who start getting their 2023's take apart their hinges to check for whatever the fix is and share here I guess ?

That isn't a gasket you are seeing, it's the unpainted metal in there. My 2019 Rubi is black and has the same look. I stopped at a dealer and looked at a new one in white, same deal. No gasket, but it "looks" like one due to the lack of paint. Here is a picture of mine.

Could it be that they maybe now add the hinges after doors are painted? If do then maybe the underside of hinge is treated with something?

The 2022s I looked at had the same bare metal. I'll look for the pic but I may have deleted it.

Considering all the painting is done by robot, it's odd that there is so much variance from one JL to another. Some hinges have that seam completely covered and some completely open.

Could be BS to get you to order a new one.
Yea I smell that ? too. Seems to reason that we know stuff here at forums more/better/sooner than a stealership does.

Mine was built 4/21 and the daughters 1/22. I'll have to take a good look at mine tonight as well as the daughters to see if there are any gaskets.

Saw my auto body guy today.
His opinion is this will keep happening. If the metals are not properly prepared in factory it will be hard to remedy. He also said my corrosion may or may not get worse. Many factors come into the mix to determine the severity. He also said what’s on the receiving end of the bolt in the door? Is that aluminum or steel??
Thankfully Mine is slight and hardly noticeable.
And I don’t have it in hood like others.
He also said many autos are being made with dissimilar metals these days so pick your poison.

This guy is a Jeep lover. And he said they should have kept steel.

I wonder if a layer of PPF over the bubbles will seal them in so they don’t get worse.?
Really just luck of the draw.

gaskets on hinges won't help the bottoms of doors and it doesn't take in consideration the steel bolt and backing plate holding the doors, tailgate and hood on

While I agree that that may not be a gasket and may be lack of paint, I will say that the newer Jeeps (late 21 and newer) seem to have a gap between the hinge and door that earlier Jeeps do not. To me that indicates something is between the door and hinge now that wasn’t there before.

Mine isn’t bubbling where the bolt is it’s the side by of the hinge pin. But I guess it’s the same thing?
