That's insane. I am actually kind of surprised they haven't released a TSB yet. Well. Not really actually. That would be a massive expenditure for them.
There is a TSB for it

Really? Then why are there so many people getting told there isn't anything to be done or vehicle is out of warranty?
Because they don't want to deal with the warranty claim/don't have an in-house body shop?
A TSB on an out of warranty vehicle isn't necessarily a free repair.

Thankfully we don't really get super bad dealers here in Canada like the US does. Granted, we also don't have any Lemon law protection. I don't know what I wpuldmdo if I had a legitimate warranty claim and my dealer was like "nope. Not doing it". Lol.

I have had a few TSBs out of warranty on a few vehicle and never paid. I didn't realise they could charge for that. How do they decide what costs the owner money vs the company?

A recall is free but a TSB simply outlines how to repair the problem. Once it's out of warranty, it's up to the dealer to decide whether to cover it or charge for the repair.

This appears to be a widespread problem and the builder is quite aware of it. So have they corrected their flawed painting process or should we expect more of the same from them? Give that some Wranglers now cost upwards of 100K, we would hope that it was rectified.

Are dealers considering this under the standard 3 year 36 month warranty or under the corrosion warranty?

I would think it would be under the corrosion warranty.

All a TSB is is a notification to dealer service departments of how to fix an issue if a user complains of it.

It does not mandate them to do work if they don't complain, and it doesn't mandate that they do it for free outside of warranty.

In essence, a TSB is effectively an email and costs Jeep nothing.

Well, I’m glad I found this post. Started noticing some bubbling last year during the winter and after just detailing my ‘20 2 dr Rubi it definitely got worse. I have an appointment at a dealer with body shop this week. I only have 27k miles so not worried about it being covered but more so color matching and having it recur again. Dealer said they wouldn’t necessarily repaint the entire hood and door, rather spot repair? What does that even mean? The dealer I bought from which is 2 1/2 hrs away said if I have problems with the local
Dealer I’m bringing it to I should call them. I’m hoping I don’t as I lose my patience and cool very quickly in situations like this.

spot repairs seem to be temporary fixes.

what I intend to do is take my jeep by to a shop locally who is aluminum prep certified (or so they claim) and have a separate shop for aluminum parts and ask their opinion on how to prevent this the best. My simple mind is to remove the hinges and have them painted all around and the “well” where the hinge reattaches to door also painted.

galvanic corrosion is caused by two dissimilar metals touching. Painting should slow that? After that I would think a piece of film like paint protection film on both sides of the hinge/well would also help.

but I am not a metallurgist so I’m just spitballing here

Having had my Jeep back since March 15th 2022 after a second paint correction, I noticed the crap has returned on the hinges only this time.
Minor compared to what they where, but being as it has returned, I am assuming it’s just a matter of time.
Has anyone had any successful solution to this? Replacing hinges with billet ones?? Painting the hinges in Kevlar??? Contacting the Catholic Church for an exorcism??

Dealers for most product lines have the ability to contact the factory and ask for "good will" support on a repair. If there's a TSB, and it's a known issue, the factory can chime in for the whole repair, or offer to pay for all parts and customer pay for labor, or deny the whole thing under warranty, or anywhere between.

It's up to the dealer to ask, and up to the company how far they want to support it. A TSB is a guideline to the repair, not the coverage for the repair if the warranty period has expired.
