Of course the videos want to show the bronco is better or at minimum able to compete with wrangler. Why else do the rubicon of all trails. BTW I did it in my 2 door with 32 inch michelins. lol

With IFS which is a disappointment to anyone who knows about and does technical offroad, so yeah the vehicle is much better suited to mall crawling. That is mostly what is thought of with IFS, not it being a ford or whatever.

Waiting for the obligatory "but most dont care about off roading anyway" comments. lol Yet ford isnt showing the rig at the malls. So despite what people use the vehicle for they do care about what it is capable of. Ford is trying to show people that it will do what a jeep can do. It's all marketing and very smart of ford to do.

I predict when the bronco is actually used it will be better than a 4 runner, and FJ, but will fall well short of what a jeep can do and ease of modification ONLY because of IFS. I want to be wrong here. It would be great if it were as good as an SFA along with the other benefits IFS has over a SFA. But no, it's likely no unicorn.

The REAL fun with the bronco is going to be that motor and handling at speed off road. It's going to be a hoot.
Yup. Very well said. However, I wouldn't say most don't care about off roading but that most wont be doing anything much more than what we've seen in these videos...if that makes sense.

They are hyping this up but they're not overly hyping it...it's been pretty dry for the last few weeks actually. I'm kind of surprised we haven't seen anything else. We don't have the build & price and it's almost September. This was originally thought to be out in August.

And also, to mention. I'm not sure who their target audience is but I would think their most important demographic is not the seasoned 65 year old off roaders. They have their stuff, and have been using it and upgrading for many years. They would most definitely like to reel in the 25-45 as these are the ones they want for many more years of Bronco buying. Not saying that some 65 year olds aren't interested...and I'm sure a lot will want both a Jeep and a Wrangler. I dunno, I'm not a marketer...just an opinion...and as quoted by a wise one here, opinions are like assholes :)

The problem is generally speaking it is the 45+ age range buying new vehicles in this price range. The Bronco Sport is the one that should reel in the younger crowd and make them future Bronco buyers.

My point exactly

Jim Farley, CEO of Ford starting Oct 1, is a marketing guru. But, based on what I’ve seen so far, I believe he has pushed Bronco’s marketing hype too far.

Ford has raised expectations so high, and the date when people are going to be able to actually buy a Bronco is so far, that there’s now a lot of room for disappointment to set in.
Farley needs to retire in a van down be the river!

This makes sense, as one of the promises was that the Bronco would have storage for the doors in the rear cargo area. No way to make this work with full doors, but with half-doors that definitely could. For anyone who has ever driven their Wrangler to a vacation (where the roadtrip is too long to comfortably drive without doors), but then got there and wanted the doors-off freedom (but lacked anyplace to store them), that's a compelling feature. Wouldn't be shocked if it is incorporated in the "JM" or whatever replaces the JL in 7-8 years.
Unless of course you are travelling and there is no room to store the doors in the back.....which is why I have a Best Top Sunrider for my hardtop....

Wow, no one posted anything about Bronco for an entire 72 hours...!

All of that Ford marketing hype must be starting to slip...

I actually kinda like the silence: seems like so much of the Bronco talk has been either speculative or Ford marketing hype...and this is the Wrangler forum after all...

But...of some potential interest, news of a 2023 Bronco Raptor was "accidentally leaked" by a Ford EDS engineer, as reported by Practical Motoring.

Between now and next summer when Broncos actually start showing up at dealers, I think we're gonna have pretty long stretches of relatively little to say. Even over at the Bronco6g forums I bet we'll see some periods of slow posting. Every day that passes is another reminder of just how far away a year is lol

when build and price comes out in the next few weeks (it’s supposed be out by end of August ...running outta time for that) I’m sure there will be plenty more to talk about lol

Lol, I see. Very deep insight.
We have our share. But I've been on the 6g forum and it's the same thing there. It happens with every group.

I browsed there for a bit and I couldn’t keep going. Hard to crown a vehicle that won’t be on the street in a long time. It’s easy to say the 2030 camaro is better then the current stang. Well it is easy to say that since the comparable Camaro is better then the comparable stang right now and has been for a decade.
