That's awesome! Where was this when I bought the Quadratec DP... (Only bought cause reviews said the MORE was a PITA to install and was also unavailable at the time. Happy with the Q.)

Reminds me of my old '68 Mustang with the high beam switch on the floor :)
Yes! I smile every time I use it. Reminds me of all the trucks and cars my Dad had that I drove in High School

OP here. I decided on the Quadratec (on backorder). There were a lot of M.O.R.E. supporters, but the almost universally-criticized installation contortions put me off. The advantage the M.O.R.E. seemed to have was the fact that it did not rest on the floormat, although the Quadratec seems easy enough to lift to vacuum under.

Thanks guys!

I went with the @DV8Offroad pedal. It’s pricy but very well built, adjustable, and super easy instal (just 2 bolts). I’ll often put all my weight on it to adjust my seating position and it doesn’t move at all.

I'm kinda liking that DV8 pedal. Is yours adjusted all the way forward?

In my last vehicle, I really got used to having the dead pedal further back, almost even with the gas pedal, but I'm really not sure if that's possible with a lot of the available JL dead pedals.

Wish I could see the MORE and Quadratec side-by-side for myself in real life… the pros/cons between these two are killing me. Then if I decided on the Quadratec route I’d have to debate the 813 fabrications one with the light switch!

Ugh… this dead pedal is turning into a harder decision than I anticipated. ?

Any thoughts on a Right Hand Drive rest (dead) pedal ?

Dont overthink it.

Order the Quadratec. (I doubt you will be sorry).
It is an easy install.
It rotates up for removing/cleaning floor mats.
It looks like factory equipment.
It is VERY sturdy and secure.

If you don't like it, for whatever reason, you could resell it and recoup most of your money.

Easy peasy.

Take a look at the Dead Pedal I designed. Made from 1/8" aluminum, so it is beefy! Simple install, all you need to do is remove the firewall bolt, put the pedal in place and replace the bolt. The pedal lifts out of the way for floor mat removal. The best feature of the pedal... I have two optional switches that mount in the pedal. The "Old School" floor dimmer switch or a momentary switch. I use the floor dimmer switch in my JL and JT and have it controlling a set of off-road lights. It makes the ultimate backroad high beam switch. No more fumbling trying to find a button to push while driving, just click the switch with your foot. The momentary switch was an option I added for customers looking for a way to control items such as a train horn.

This was the one I was going to mention. I'm eyeing the dead pedal, and bracket for the single ARB compressor firewall mount you guys make.

So it doesn't necessarily adjust forward to back, but it pivots on 4 bolts that connect the pedal to the mounting bracket. So the top of the dead pedal doesn't move much but the bottom (i.e. heal) of the pedal rotates up bringing it higher off the floorboard and closer to the driver.

Yes, I've got mine all the way up (closest to the driver). All the way down would put the bottom of the pedal on (or very close to) the floorboard. I didn't try it this way, but I assume that would be pretty close to being even with the gas pedal.

Somewhat related note, I've also installed the Shorty Seat Jackers from @DesertDoesIt. They raise the front of the seat by 3/4 in. This in combination with the dead pedal made a HUGE difference. Complete game changer!

Thanks, appreciate the info!

And just noticed, the dirt from your shoe tread looks like Kryptek camo ?

I have a 4xe and tried the QT model -fantastic build quality and built like a tank but that single bolt attachment point using a coupling nut just didn’t work…kept coming loose and swinging to the brake pedal. I removed and sold it. The 4xe needs an alternative mounting configuration. This model caught my eye on AMZ since it used two attachment points preventing it from twisting. Might pull the trigger just to try out.

The 813F&D options looks awesome - @813 Fabrication & Design if you decide to make one with two attachment points and American made under $100….I’m in.

I will take a look at a second mounting location but I've never had an issue in either the JL or JT but I am also always open to customer thoughts so I will for sure look into it! It is $99 now, I am not sure about cost if design were to change. It may be a second plate for behind.
