I have the Quadratech without the pad. Super easy installation, middle adjustment was comfortable for me. Seems sturdy. Even without the pad my foot has never had trouble finding purchase on it.

I bought an inexpensive one off amazon and it has worked great. Install was easy, metal is very thick and sturdy. When I was in Hawaii earlier this month driving a rental 2020 JLU Sport, I really missed my dead pedal and my SeatJacker.

+1 for the Quadratec with rubber pad. It looks and feels like a factory dead pedal.

*for extra points I added a small piece of door guard edging on the bottom edge of the pedal. This keeps it from digging into the floor liner.

I have the Red Rock one and like it. Serves its purpose. Lots of people like the Quadratec one, though, also.

If you ever purchase stuff on Extreme Terrain, you should be aware that Red Rock (their house brand), is synonymous with Made in China. That's not always bad, but in this case it is.

If you're the kind of person who will not put any kind of pressure on your dead pedal, if it literally is just a place you rest your foot. As long as you don't ever press on it to adjust where you're sitting in your seat, you would be fine. But any pressure in the center of that dead pedal, will result in it bending because it's very cheap metal.

Extreme terrain doesn't tell you this, but this one is actually made in China.

I actually have this one. It took me 8 months to get around to reinforcing this dead pedal with a piece of quarter inch steel. You can't kill it now, but that's thanks to me.

Unless you're going to brace it or only put feather light weight on it, I would highly recommend something else.

Take a look at the Dead Pedal I designed. Made from 1/8" aluminum, so it is beefy! Simple install, all you need to do is remove the firewall bolt, put the pedal in place and replace the bolt. The pedal lifts out of the way for floor mat removal. The best feature of the pedal... I have two optional switches that mount in the pedal. The "Old School" floor dimmer switch or a momentary switch. I use the floor dimmer switch in my JL and JT and have it controlling a set of off-road lights. It makes the ultimate backroad high beam switch. No more fumbling trying to find a button to push while driving, just click the switch with your foot. The momentary switch was an option I added for customers looking for a way to control items such as a train horn.

This is great.
You need a sound horn version and a double button one for the l/r turn signals. ?

That's awesome! Where was this when I bought the Quadratec DP... (Only bought cause reviews said the MORE was a PITA to install and was also unavailable at the time. Happy with the Q.)

Reminds me of my old '68 Mustang with the high beam switch on the floor :)

I bought that a few years ago. It was an easy install-but it is not very sturdy-so it keeps bending flat against the firewall. I would not buy it again.
Maybe it's been redesigned? The one I bought last year is either 3/32" or 1/8" stainless steel with reveals on both sides. 6000 miles on it so far and it's definitely not bending.

I went with the @DV8Offroad pedal. It’s pricy but very well built, adjustable, and super easy instal (just 2 bolts, 6 if you include the ones holding the pedal to the mounting bracket). I’ll often put all my weight on it to adjust my seating position and it doesn’t move at all.

Maybe you're right about the re-design?

I can't say for certain. Maybe I just got lucky.

This picture from the Amazon site gives you an idea of how thick it is. Regardless, though, it looks like the OP is going with the QT option.

+ 1 for the MORE Dead Pedal. Was a PITA to install one of the bolts but does it’s job well.

the M.O.R.E. Dead Pedal was one of the first things i added; it's like what should have been there stock.

i remember one of the bolts being tricky to get in right, but it wasn't at all impossible.
it's worked perfectly; i personally i didn't want one that went all the way to the floor and i couldn't get my foot underneath.
