I had both my batteries replaced under warranty after an under warranty tow to the dealership when mine was 30 months into the 36 month warranty. My temporary solution is is installed a trickle charger to the big battery that I plug in overnight. Plan is to install a Genesis when we return to Montana for the summer.

had my Aux battery replaced about a month ago 2018 JLUR 34k miles, it was starting to go bad back in October, but some dealers won't replace unless the diagnostic says the battery has failed. I did not have the symptoms you described, my start stop would not work, that was the only problem, and did not effect the normal starting of the vehicle or any other features.

Thanks. That’s what I’ve been hearing, that’s it’s better to just by pass. Another owner just had to replace both batteries on her 21’ because of the cold and they were not covered by warranty. Cost her $500. This is ridiculous and frustrating because it’s so very obviously a design flaw
She must have had over 36,000 miles on her 2021 for it not to be warranty?

is this an option on a 2021? I don’t see it at all and I want to avoid it

From what I have read, and what I can see without lifting out my battery, the 3.6l with eTorque does not have the smaller aux battery, just the main 12v battery and the very large 48v hanging between the frame rails in the rear.

Or a crooked dealership charged her for the parts & service by claiming a battery is not covered under warranty.

Anybody ever encounter a crooked dealership? I know I have.

mileage is irrelevant to battery warranty. They are separate.
No.

mine was covered by warranty, went to another dealer that said "I agree the battery is bad, if it won't fail on the diagnostic, we will make it fail" I have owned 3-4 vehicles with stop start and dual batteries, have not had any issues with those vehicles and never replaced the batteries. I am in the minority and actually like the start stop technology...

The batteries are under warranty. Also, if someone is paying 500 dollars for those batteries remove the gold from them before installing.

^^^
Pls help me clear up a few questions:

1. The Aux battery is only on the 2.0L 4?
2. The Aux battery runs the ESS only?
3. If I disable the ESS on a 2021 2.0L, I can still drive the Jeep without the Aux battery?

your copy paste means nothing and says nothing. Your batteries have a separate warranty on top of the factory 36/60
