Same thing happened to me after I rotated the tires but it was full on death wobble. 2019 JLUR 2.5” lift and 35” KO2’s w/45K miles. Had the tires balanced, front end alignment, replaced drag link bushing, adjusted caster, and torqued everything. Still had death wobble on certain bumps. Finally...
The ball joints were about $600 and close to another $600 to install. I wasn’t confident doing it myself. I was looking to upgrade to the Dynatrac anyway. Since they’re rebuildable I’ll probably do that myself when the time comes.
I recently experienced death wobble at about 42K miles, 35” KO2’s, 2.5” Icon lift (30k miles on the lift and tires). I had an alignment, tires balanced, caster adjusted and replaced the drag link bushing. Still got DW. Both shops I took it to said ball joints looked ok. I decided to have them...
The problem with this comparison is he compared the Stage 1 lift to much higher end lifts. Stage 1 is an entry level lift at a relatively low cost. The performance of these lifts increase substantially with the higher stages and I think this would have been reflected in a more accurate comparison.
I don’t think it will make much of a difference but there is a lot of discussion regarding this issue on the forum. I had the aluminum steering box replaced with the steel one and that helped more. Not sure if that’s the case with your recon.
Same thing happened to me after a cold day of skiing with the fob in an outer pocket. I used the fob to push the start button and turn the alarm off before starting. The fob worked fine for a couple more months in warm temperature before I finally replaced the battery. I now keep it in an inner...
I’ve been on KO2’s for years on both my Jeep and Tacoma with no issues in snow. Never used a dedicated snow tire so maybe I just don’t know any better but they seem to work for me.
I have the Icon 2.5 Stage 5 lift with rebound wheels and 35’s. Very happy with it. Handles great both on and off road. I also like how well it performs going fast through the desert and sand washes.
Anytime I see a post regarding mileage I wonder which way the wind is blowing. 2019 JLUR 3.6, 2.5” lift, 35” tires, steel bumpers, winch, etc., average about 18 mpg overall (highway/city mix). Better on the highway. Throw in a strong headwind and forget it.
Well I’m glad I’m not alone on this. I use an ARB quick deflate to air down. Usually go to 13-15 psi. After some driving the TPMS usually reads 16-18 psi. Then I think damn, I should have deflated more. I know some of this is due heat generated while driving. I use an ARB digital gauge to air...
Late response to this but I was in Death Valley in February and put a stick through the sidewall of the KO2. Was able to put a plug in so didn’t have to use the spare. If you don’t already have a plug kit then I highly recommend one. Much easier then changing a 35” tire.
