Ok, just took my 22 JLU Rubicon in for the second time for a dead battery, first time under warranty and they fixed it. Took it to a repair place outside of warranty and asked them to replace the main and auxiliary batteries. Came to pick it up and the shop said I didn't have an auxiliary battery, not even cables in the spot it was supposed to be. Anyone ever come across this???

3.6 Etorque will only have the main battery and a 48v battery located on the undercarriage around the rear seats. 2.0 is the same setup but at one point was offered with non etorque. Can't recall what years that was.

Mine is 3.6 gas no e torque or 48v. Strange however my mechanics said they have see this before. Was there a mfg change at one point maybe???

Non etorque should have the little 12v aux unless someone did the bypass. Easy way to tell. Look at the cables on your main battery and see if there is one disconnected and taped off, or open the fuse box and see if F47 was removed. If you see either of these the aux was bypassed.

If you take the cover off of your Power Distribution Center (PDC) that black box on the passenger's side under your hood: your intelligent fuse box, and look at the box's driver's side, which picture better depicts how yours looks? The first picture below lacks a connection (near the pointer finger) between N1 and N2. This is what we expect from dual AGM battery JLs.

The picture below, in contrasts, shows a jumper between these two points reflective of models without a second AGM battery. The key word here being AGM (absorbent glass mat) chemistry type of JL battery. For example, the 4xe has a second battery but it is for propulsion, resides under the back seats and as is not of AGM chemistry: AGM being a type of lead acid battery.
