I called Metalcloak and they recommended the 5100’s for only a 3/4” spacer. I can’t swing the Synergy 1” springs I had on the other JL right now. Based on the stock springs with a 3/4” spacer, and looking at any shock below $700, the only options where I won’t lose flex seems to be the 0-1.5” lift 5100 and Fox 2.0 monotubes. I liked my Foxes I had before I took over the wife’s Rubicon. The economy is kicking our butt and I’m just trying to maximize my maintenance dollar.
We ran 5100s on our JLUR XR for the 1st 20k miles or so before I upgraded to fox 2.0s. They ride firm due to digressive valving but I didn't mind it. Makes it handle a little better, has a little less brake dive, etc which is good if you drive hard.

You are a little off on your tire sizes, the 33's are actually 32.7 inch and the 35's are 34.4 inch for a difference of 1.7 inch or 0.85 inch of vehicle lift. 😎

Check it out here; https://tiresize.com/comparison/
The marketed diameters are not accurate. That vs the actual measured height is always up to 1 inch less

Does anybody know the extended lengths of the springs front and rear for Rubicon X?

I worry about the firm ride I hear about. Hitting some washboard roads and feeling every rock on slow going trails doesn’t sound fun. You’d think they would offer the same shock with a linear valve by now.

I've only come across a few free lengths for OEM springs (some I measured myself). Might be close enough for your purposes.

Basically a ~26.25" shock length unseats a Sport spring in the front, ~27.75" in the rear. These springs would unseat with some 2-3" lift shocks at stock Sport height. A more realistic scenario would have a 2" spacer on the Sport springs, meaning ~28" extended front shock length.

Alrighty, going to overshare a brain dump. Perhaps it proves to be useful for someone, maybe not... :) Note that throughout these pictures, the tire/wheel combo remained consistent.

I have a 2024 JLURX with factory steel bumpers and I added a winch myself. As far as I can tell, from the factory I had the same springs that come with the steel bumper/winch combo (Front, right factory coil P/N 68631093AA).

Front fender measurement, factory configuration, no winch (40.75")

From there, I added a winch and bumper bar, prob about 100lb of stuff. This resulted in about a 0.25" drop (40.5")

Not thrilled with the factory rake anyway, and now additional 0.25" of sag, I went ahead and put in a 1" Teraflex coil spacer in the front. Oddly enough, this got me to about 41.25". I am assuming in the days between adding the winch and measuring, the coils settled a bit further, rendering only 0.75" of lift from the previous measurements.

Happy with it visually, but still wanting a coil that handled weight a bit better, I went ahead and just completed the install of @Clayton Off Road 1.5" coils front and rear. I need to drive a bit to get a feel for how it handles, but it raised the measurement in the front to just a bit more than 41.5" after settling a few tenths.

If curious... The rear went from 40.8" to just a bit more than 41.25"

Finished ride, I couldn't get a full picture without a wide angle lens, will try to get a better pic down the road...

My front is 12.5" axle tube to bottom of hat.

Xr, steel bumpers, winch, roof rack and awning.

Front 40.75" to fender lip at 32psi.

Rear 39.25" to fender lip at 32psi.

Stock springs. 5000 miles.

@truntyi wonder if i have different springs since mine came with winch.

Also am I reading this right, the Clayton springs you chose netted you nothing or 1/4" in the front?

I’m wondering too on the factory spring. There are so many spring combinations from the factory, it’s hard to track.

From factory height, to after the clayton springs + winch, i gained right at 0.75”. (40.75” -> 41.5”)

Ok, I was trying to follow along. When you did the Clayton springs, did you take off the coil spacer?

Stopped by dealer today. They had 2 JLU xr in stock and many Rubicons. The stock Rubicons measured on top of plastic molding above wheel well fender. The rear was just over 41.5 inches and the front was right at 41.5 inches. The xr's in the same spot was rear a tad over 43" and front was 43". So stock to stock the XR only gained 1.5" over stock. The only thing I forgot to measure is actual tire height to see how much of that was tire only. These were what I saw on brand new dealer stock.

2024 JLURX? Is that a 24 Rubicon X with 35s or something else?
