Charts are great, try measuring them on the Jeep, at the psi you normally run though. Granted I only run 30 psi on the street so at the 40+ the dealers run they might measure closer to the specs.
No doubt but I understood his question for one of factory specs which I gave. 😎

The dimensions given by bfg are over estimates on every vehicle ever. Air them up to 100psi, they still won't measure those listed dimensions you gave.

Hard telling from pics, but don't see any real big difference. I was wondering if the xr really has any lift as it is not mentioned on window sticker. Many have put 35 on stock rubicons.

There is a lift. I have a standard 24 rubicon and i have two buddies with xr’s and have installed lifts on all 3 and the xr’s have a lift. Thereare differences in bump stops and r
track bar locations, swaybar links, shocks are longer etc.

None of which lift anything. I know on ours it was only 1.5" taller than a stock Rubicon parked next to it on the lot. 1" of that is from the tires so yes there's a lift...of about 1/2" .

I think you are right there, I measured my factory 285's and only got slightly over 32 inches on the ground which of course is where it matters.

I’d be more curious to see what measurement people are getting as in the image below. Seems like it would be a lot more accurate data. Include what changes have been made like going from OEM plastic bumpers to metal bumper with a winch etc

Here are a few generic shock eye-to-eye lengths that I've been using. These could be +/- 0.5" (or more...) depending on the Jeep, but are a rough average of where each one sits.

ModelFront shock eye-to-eye @ ride heightRear shock eye-to-eye @ ride height
Sport18.5"21.2"
Rubicon20.0"22.5"
XR21.0"24.0"

Do you prefer the shock measurement over the axle tube to bottom of upper spring cup lip? If so, why? I see you’ve consolidated lots of data on the forum. Much appreciated!

Regarding tire height: the data given here shows that you can't really rely on the advertised size. For example, a "35" a.k.a. 315/70R17 is advertised as 34.4" with 604 revs/mile. But if you calculate 604 revs/mile you get a tire that is 33.39" tall. I think this means there's 1.01" of tire sag.

For the KO2s available in 2020, I calculated the average rolling diameter to be about 97.1% of the advertised height.

For those concerned with tire sag, I've compared all the BFG K02 specs listed on this site. By calculating their revolutions/mile off of their advertised diameter then comparing this to their advertised revolutions/mile, I can get a good idea of their effective diameter vs the measured. All were within 96.8%-97.3%, with the average at 97.1%. The range is most likely due to rounding errors, since they only list the diameters in tenths of an inch.

I'm sure other types of tires could be different, depending on compound used or construction methods, but 97.1% is the percentage that I've decided to use in my calculator when the user inputs tire height. I've also added a revolutions/mile option if it is known.

Here's the data I used:

Yes, because it makes choosing shocks & bump stops much easier. The axle tube method is quicker, but only really useful for comparing ride heights.

According to the shock eye to eye measurements from above, there's still only a 1" lift not 1.5". Unfortunately they aren't all identical from the factory and some seem to sit only 1/2" higher, some are closer to an inch. I've yet to see anyone with a full 1.5" of actual suspension when measuring either eye to eye or axle to front spring perch.

Yes I’m happy with the XR package except I didn’t understand what the factory “lift” really meant. I guess that’s my fault for not doing better research.

My JLR was 21"+ in the front when new... higher than many XRs. Jeep really doesn't have any ride height consistency.

My XR with factory winch seems to include the correct front springs, finally (IMO). I was at 21.50" (front) shock eye-to-eye.
