Alright so apparently the fix is to re-install the factory driver’s side coil pad. Just got off the phone with Metalcloak. Per MC, some Jeeps need both pads, some need one and some need none. It’s a case by case basis essentially. So to anyone installing the MC lift or considering it, buy the $30 correction pads because you may end up needing one or both. Or maybe you’ll get lucky and need none…wish that would have been in the instructions ? If I have time tonight I’ll head back to the shop to yank the front end apart for the 3rd time ?‍♂

Sorry your having issues. Which kit did you go with? 3.5 or 2.5.

It’s all good, growing pains. This lift definitely takes a little fine tuning/ironing out but the performance is well worth it. Just trying to help some folks that might be in the fence lift wise iron out any install gremlins they might face. Don’t even have it set up right and the flex I’m getting is nuts for a bolt on kit. Metalcloak 3.5” 392GC. 4.5-6” Accutune’d Fox 2.0s up front with the shock relocation bracket and 3-4” Fox 2.0s out back.

Interesting. And you’re running the stock spring pads. Well, at any rate I got mine fixed tonight. Yanked it apart and swapped spring pads. So I’m running a Metalcloak passenger pad and a stock driver’s pad.

Much better, did you swap out the front drive shaft?

Haven’t swapped it yet, ordering Adams 1350s F/R this week. Unbolted it so I could droop the spring out for the pad swap.

Let us know how those 2.0’s do — I’m debating going with the 2.5’s but want to keep the ride quality over small imperfections near stock. Also want to ensure I can go faster over washboards though when I get the chance, though rare. Either option will be accutune though.

thoughts/opinions?

I've decided to just run spacers until more suspension options specific for the 392 come out and more report back on the lifts that are already out there. My thought being that spacers would buy me some time for more options to come out, but at least allow me to drop 37s (the largest tire I'll likely run) under it for EJS while I'm waiting.

That said, has anyone done 2" spacers and did you go ahead and change LCAs or use correction brackets and did you go ahead and did you buy new track bar(s) or relocate?

I have the AEV spacers with the shock relo brackets coming this week. 37s on backordered but should be here by the end of Feb.

I do prefer bushings on the control arms over Johnny joints. I've run both over the years on various rigs and prefer the bushings. To that end, I thought about just ordering a set of the mopar lift LCAs - cheap; like disposable cheap ... $60/pair. I've also considered the AEV correction brackets - I used those on my JK and they worked great except for the ground clearance issues ... I got hung up on them multiple times.

I have the teraflex spacers and mopar LCAs and plan to put on this weekend. Will see how it rides.

When I added 2.5 DSCs to my 392XR I do not believe small bump compliance was sacrificed. With the stock springs and stock Fox valving I ran the high-speed compression clicker at 3 clicks on the highway. Below 3 on the HSC and the shocks actually felt softer than stock on the highway. More like a squishy SUV or Lincoln town car.

After adding a lift, which has higher spring rates than stock, the HSC clicker had to be reduced to either open or 1 click to get back most of that plushness. The stiffer springs definitely negatively affected small bump compliance more than going to larger diameter shocks.

The 2.0's will be an upgrade over latte foamer stock shocks for sure. The aspect of the 2.5's that I've enjoyed the most has been dialing in the slow speed compression so that the Jeep doesn't lumber through the turns on the highway. I think you'd be happy with either option but don't fear the 2.5's.

On my 392 XR JL I'm going with the Clayton Offroad Overland 3.5" Part number COR-2909335. Their quality is amazing. Everything I have installed from them really was top level. To me it's worth any production wait time there might be and their customer service is top level.
Pardon my ignorance, but would this kit still allow you to park in a standard garage? Thanks!

Yes, with several inches to spare. Good luck.

It's nice to hear some feedback from someone that iteratively changed the setup, as otherwise, it's difficult to tell what's causing it. For instance on my Gladiator with Fox 3.0's -- all my small bump compliance is gone, even on the softest setting. I'm running EVO's plush springs.

It may just be how a race series 3.0 shock is from Fox, but you do feel every little imperfection in the road, where if I take my stock 2 dr JLR through the same road, it reduces the harshness by about 90%. The weird part is (to me), if you dial up the stiffness on my 3.0's, the feeling of every bump doesn't change, it just gets bouncy (unless I'm off road, then it's great when you are running fast -- no fade whatsoever).
