What a trip ā¦ for dirt, we did mosquito from alma to the snow drift, Weston, Cinnamon, Engineer, Mineral Creek, Holy Cross, Medano and some sections of the BDR.
Awesome week. Thanks for all the info everyone shared.
Leaning medano and/or alpine loop first part of the week, vail middle of the week and hopefully holy cross on Wednesday 7/5, then Thursday/Friday still open ā
if anyone is heading to those, particularly Holy Cross, and doesnāt mind an experienced tag a long, let me know-š
Weāve decided to do a last minute trip back out to CO the week of the July 4th and are going to spend as much time in the dirt as possible. Unfortunately, with all the snow fall, a lot of the trails weād like to run are still closed.
does anyone have good up to date resources for trail...
ā¦ or adjustable LCAs (and even UCAs) if you want to maintain some ground clearance. I ran the drop brackets on my JK and while great, they eat up clearance.
On the mopar onesā are you speaking from personal experience or guessing?
I ask because, while I donāt have any personal experience on...
thanks!
lol - I actually donāt even know that guy and wasnāt using him to spot; I was just taking the line I knew and he stepped up and starting trying to direct me.
youāre gonna love those KM3s. Iād never run them before this rig and they hook up on everything. Iāve only been airing them down...
After nearly a year with this thing, I can say it is without question the most fun 4x4 Iāve ever ownedš
Really happy with the XR pkg and glad i went that route.
You bet! Congrats! Theyāre a lot of fun.
I had a number of built rigs over the years, Jeeps and non-Jeeps, and had never run spacers. I only did this time because there was not a lift out I wanted when I bought the 392, but I was pleasantly surprised. If not for wanting a bit more...
actually just ordered that book - love his Moab one.
I love Holy Cross, though - fun trail, although itās been years since Iāve run it. Spring Creek was a regular run when I was living in Boulder, but I think the wall has gotten a bit more gnarly since I ran it. š
yeah, great point - and good link.
I lived in Boulder for 5 years and wheeled all over CO during that time - there were some summers where very little was open until the end of July, then Iāve had others where by end of June basically everything was great (except Pearl).
maybe some audibles...
FWIW, Iāve run the AEV kit since EJS last year with no issues other than the steering is a bit more floaty with caster being off. Itās not bad, but definitely a difference - but ride is same as stock and there are no issues running 37s at full flex off-road. The rear does sit slightly high when...
Passive-aggressive much?š
Weāre interested in catching up with anyone who enjoys running CO trails and is generally nice to be around. I personally donāt care what you drive -we have a couple with a Defender 130 pickup and a guy with a JK planning on going with us, too.
My 392 comment was...
We're heading to CO the first week of July and planning on running Pearl Pass, Schofield, Holy Cross, Webster/Red Cone, maybe Spring Creek and/or others TBD.
Any other 392 owners planning to be out there that week and hitting those or similar trails?
We'd be interested in catching up with...
Iām itching to get off-road this weekend and am thinking about running down to Uwharrie for part of the day Saturday and hit Daniel with a buddy, then (since it appears camping is booked at Uwharrie) head down mid-afternoon to the SCAR alternate northeast route dropping in near Carolina...
