  1. 392 Death Wobble @ 13,904 miles on the ODO

Hmm. Not heard of the downside. But I have heard the sector brace takes out some of the play in steering and provides stronger support for the steering system, particularly important when aired down and rock crawling. Have you found info on this forum suggesting to stay away from the sector...
  2. 392 Death Wobble @ 13,904 miles on the ODO

Steering stabilizer just usually masks the problem. On my 2014 JK, the death wobble actually sheered off the steering stabilizer bracket. I will never forget looking at the driver in the lane next to me while in the midst of death wobble. The look on her face was hilarious, probably wondering...
  3. 392 Death Wobble @ 13,904 miles on the ODO

Your post reminded me of a great YT video, . Good to check all the bolts on the steering and suspension components periodically.
  4. 392 Death Wobble @ 13,904 miles on the ODO

Eventually, the OEM components will need to be replaced, usually the bushing in the trackbars wears out first. With a lift and heavier tires, it accelerates the failure of the ball joints, along with heavy off road driving.
  5. 392 Death Wobble @ 13,904 miles on the ODO

Nothing wrong with it. Just want to build up the front end to stronger components.
  6. 392 Death Wobble @ 13,904 miles on the ODO

Running the MetalCloak track bar that came with the MetalCloak Game Changer 3.5 lift.
  7. 392 Death Wobble @ 13,904 miles on the ODO

Tires are fine and balanced with plenty of tread left. I knew this condition would arrive at some point on the 392 with the lift and larger tires. Seems every solid axle vehicle I've owned, the DW appears at some point. Also experienced DW on my Ford F250 superduty, but on the highway at about...
  8. 392 Death Wobble @ 13,904 miles on the ODO

Just ordered the Steer Smart Smarts Yeti XD Sector Shaft Brace. Still researching best trackbar to replace the one that came with the MetalCloak Game Changer 3.5 lift, a new drag link, and a tie rod. Leaning towards the Steer Smarts as well for the rest of the front end. Welcome thoughts from...
  9. 392 Death Wobble @ 13,904 miles on the ODO

Woot woot! Happy to report that I made it to almost 14,000 miles on my 392 before experiencing death wobble. I should disclose the shakes started appearing a bit earlier. While the DW (death wobble, not dear wife) showed up much sooner on this build than prior builds, I have to say that the...
  10. Wife Hates my 392 - Help me save my beloved beast - the Jeep that is :)

Running 6* caster as well. Planning to pull the plug on the Dynatrac ball joints and steer smarts tie rod and drag link. Might as well put the sector shaft brace on with everything torn apart. I might upgrade the axles to the RCVs which I had on my JK and really liked. How are the 40s...
  11. Wife Hates my 392 - Help me save my beloved beast - the Jeep that is :)

When I drove the 392 off the lot, the dealer inflated the tires to 45 psi, way too much air and squirmy as heck driving from Seattle (dealer location) to Denver (home). I now run the 37s about 28 PSI as I did on my prior JK and that works very nice (chalk tested). Thinking about replacing the...
  12. Wife Hates my 392 - Help me save my beloved beast - the Jeep that is :)

All good and no worries. Although having a little fun with the topic, still interested in whether any other 392 owners have added the sector shaft braces from either of the companies.
  13. Wife Hates my 392 - Help me save my beloved beast - the Jeep that is :)

That has to be the quote of the year on this forum. While not my intended reference, too funny and absolutely agree. 30+ years here, all good ones to boot.
  14. Wife Hates my 392 - Help me save my beloved beast - the Jeep that is :)

No - I have the MetalCloak Adjustable Trackbar that comes with the Game Changer 3.5" lift.

I’ll be your set up man any day. Lol. Crossed my mind tho.
  16. Wife Hates my 392 - Help me save my beloved beast - the Jeep that is :)

It is pretty modded as posted in my sig, but haven’t modded the front end components beyond what is included in the MetalCloak game changer lift such as adjustable control arms and adjustable track bar.
  17. Wife Hates my 392 - Help me save my beloved beast - the Jeep that is :)

MetalCloak LCAs are adjustable and are set within the tolerances.
  18. Wife Hates my 392 - Help me save my beloved beast - the Jeep that is :)

Fair point. But, I subscribe to the happy wife, happy life theory.
  19. Wife Hates my 392 - Help me save my beloved beast - the Jeep that is :)

Agreed. I’ll say that I might test the speed limiter on occasion and steering no bother for me. She has a Cherokee trail hawk and it is tight on steering compared to my lifted 392.
