@Rock Krawler Suspension Installed the 2.5" RK Stock Mod kit over the weekend. Previously had the Teraflex ST1 1.5" spacer kit on the Jeep. Install was smooth, the rear track bar bracket is pretty slick. Will install the front track bar later this week at work once I get the jam nut torqued properly. Ended up ordering a set of Fox 2.0 ifp shocks as my Falcon 3.3s are too short, limiting down travel. Will give my impressions on the ride quality with Fox shocks after I've had them installed for a few days.

Based on before and after measurements the RK kit netted the following over the Teraflex ST1:

Front Left: 1.75"
Front Right: 1.75"
Rear Left: 1"
Rear Right: 1"

RK 2.5" kit vs stock height:

Front Left: 2.75"
Front Right: 2.75"
Rear Left: 2.5"
Rear Right: 2.5"

The stance looks a little tall to me, but I would expect the springs will settle some over time.

Damn this looks perfect. This is what im saving my pennies for right now, the stock mod plus the fox 2.0 for 2-3” lift shocks

Thanks for being the beta tester. I’m sure it will ride good.

I believe RK has posted before their triple rate springs don't play well with the Falcon digressive shocks anyway, so maybe the Fox units will be a better choice anyway?

BTW, would you mind getting a measurement from the ground to the bottom of the pinch weld? I have 4dr Rubicon takeoff suspension and tires on my 2dr and was wondering how much higher yours sits.

The ride with the Falcons isn’t bad, the front rides comfortably on its softest setting, it’s the back that is on the very firm side, there is just way too much low speed compression damping. I did get a random survey from @TeraFlex a few weeks ago regarding shock valving, so maybe they are thinking of revising the valving in them? It’s probably less of an issue in a 4dr with its longer wheelbase. Digressive valving does have some benefits I’ve noticed, the Jeep handles wonderfully with noticeably less body roll and brake dive.

And for sure I can get a measurement for you later today.

Edit:

Pinch seam to ground measured out at 21.5” (with 315/70/17 KO2s)

I’m having a good time with it, always been a bit of a suspension nerd. That raised rear trackbar bracket made a noticeable difference in how the rear end handles, was pleasantly surprised by that.

Thanks, that's confirms what I thought. Mine is right around 19" which is right around 2.5" higher than stock (1" for the tires and 1.5" for the Rubicon springs). Maybe it's time to get the floor jack out and see how I like it at 21.5" :)

Installed the 2.0 Fox shocks this morning, took the Jeep for an extended drive and am really happy with the ride quality combined with the RK springs. Shock valving and body control are very close in my opinion to the stock 2dr Rubicon setup.

Comparing the Fox’s to the Falcon 3.3s there is less brake dive, body roll and sharper handling with the Falcons. From having both now, if you’re after sharper, sportier handling with a firmer ride the Falcons are a good choice. If your looking for ride quality similar to OEM the more traditional valving in the Foxes will provide that.

For the money the RK lift is nice, between the two lifts the AEV appears to be a more complete kit. But without driving both back to back it’s hard to say which is “better”. The included front geometry correction brackets with the AEV lift is a nice addition. Ride quality is always subjective but if I remember correctly the 5100 shocks at least in the past were digressively valved, which will lead to firmer/sportier feel.

That’s the only real issue I have with the RK kit and it’s not so much the lift brand as it is the effect on suspension cycle geometry. With the additional lift, I find front end impacts are being transmitted more into the frame of the vehicle instead of the springs/shocks.

I have some Rancho correction brackets awaiting install to bring the frame side controls arms back down in plane with the front axle. This should alleviate some of the front end harshness. I loose some ground clearance but I’m okay with that trade off for improved suspension dynamics.

The AEV kit does provide Caster correction through the drop brackets but does not provide for axle centering which we feel is critical. It is tough to apple to apple compare kits that include different components but the most fair comparison would be our JL25AS1-2TT as that provides caster correction, if you were to negate the cost of the front track bar out of our kit, the price difference is pretty small. Basically just 2 different schools of thoughts on how a vehicle needs to be corrected.

Not totally related to this but been meaning to ask, are your spring rates for the 2dr lifts the same as your 4dr lifts? I.e 2.5” 2 door lift = 1.5” 4 door lift?
