2.0T eTorque vs Non eTorque? - anyone driven both?

I have the 2.0 E-Torque and the off the line acceleration is awesome. I have not driven the 2020 non etorque but I would imagine it does not give the same instant acceleration. Really smooth engine so far. As far as battery and other worries ect as stated above its covered by the 8 year 80K warranty part so wouldn't worry about that to much.

You can get a 2.0L with eTorque for 2020. It just has to be a Sahara trim level.

Agreed! But I don't really notice when the turbo comes up on the 2020 though. All the turbo vehicles I've owned have a notable kick when the turbo spools up, this one does not. It would be interesting to have an actual boost gage.

A boost gauge would be neat to see, for sure. Although I'm not sure I know what you mean by no notable kick. My 2020 (no etorque) slams me into my seat when the turbo spools up... In fact just the other day I accelerated to merge in front of a truck that was slowing down for me, and the turbo kick scared the crap out of me (it's winter here. Turbo + snow + dirty pants if you're not expecting it). LOL

Right tell that to the people having battery issues and leaking battery coolant. I have smooth ESS, I push the button off when I start my Jeep and I can never feel it shutting down or staring up!

Hmm, perhaps I haven't hammered hard enough on it (it IS my WIfe's Jeep)
The power is exceptional though, With the exception of the ESS, I'd be totally OK with the non-eTorque

Well you guys are of no help . i'm still torn. i don't see myself wheeling more than once a month at most...but i do like power and i'm not too concerned about the reliability of it...the warranty will cover it long enough for me and I haven't read about any very common issues. Also in time kits will become available to replace it or perhaps even upgrade it?! Also getting the 2.0T eTorque means i'll be getting a used jeep which saves me a little$$.

I wish we had more info on the plug in...i don't even know what power train that will have...maybe the same as the pacifica? I would wait a while longer if i knew more details.

You will also get a vehicle that you (hopefully) will know of any existing issues... which IMHO is a good thing for an 18/19 Wrangler.

Just ordered a 2020 Rubi 2.0L.

Does anybody know why the eTorque offering was removed from the Rubicons?

I test drove a 2019 2.0 Rubicon and hated it, since it didn't match up well with the big tires and low range axles.

I then rented a 2.0 Sport with e Torque for a week and absolutely loved it!

It felt like a cross between a motorcycle and a really fun sports car with the doors off.

I currently have a 2020 3.6 Rubicon and that engine really fits the Rubicon's mechanical upgrades that sets it apart from the Sport.

I've always felt that my JLR 2.0 had a little too much gearing, especially in first & second gear. When I get larger tires (after these wear out), I am curious to see if the 4.10 ratio is a better match.

Yes, all gas Rubicons come standard with the 4.10 axle ratio.

The Warn Zeon is such a tight fit in the OEM steel bumper, the thief would give up even if they had the correct tools. The lack of clearance makes the inner bumper bolts a huge PITA.

Security bolts on the end-caps are a good idea though.
