Lowell? Close enough?Must have been at an alzheimers outpatient hospital
Clever response. It was outside in a busy park, noisy, and as I pointed out I was surprised myself I made that mistake as I never have. Whole point of this post is me wondering if there is a safety net for a similar situation. If you can’t hear a running engine, there are at least two options. Get hearing aids, or glance at the tachometer.
You'd be surprised how often people forget with keyless cars. Outside if there is enough noise, you don't hear the engine running. Of course a silly mistake on my part, but even as I approached my Jeep I saw the "Key Fob Has Left The Vehicle" through the window before noticing the engine still running. That's not a mistake that should be made, could potentially kill someone or yourself if that happens in a closed in area.
We all make mistakes, however, I have never heard of anyone mistakingly leave the vehicle running like that.
There isn't a safety for it. Those types of minimally useful features tend to have larger unintended consequences.Clever response. It was in park, and I always have my emergency brake on too (also not in enclosed area as I would have had a better chance at hearing the engine). I will say again, point of this post was me wondering if there is a safety net. I have read in the past the Jeep will shut off if the engine is on long enough and key fob is not inside. Others have pointed out other vehicles who have these features. Didn't know if it was just my Jeep that malfunctioned or not.But it's not an opinion, if you leave your car on by "accident" in a closed area you could potentially kill someone. Especially if you leave it for hours without remembering.
That's an opinion to you?
...will prob ban me also. You can't even keep up with the conversation.
Anyway, it's been fun jousting with you. I'm sure this thread will be shut down shortly.
That is not true. When the engine is stopped in start/stop mode, as soon as you open the driver’s door, it fires up. Try it.The real problem is the Stop Start. The engine isn't running when you leave the Jeep. It turns back on later due to climate or voltage needs.
I own my own business, NOBODY tells me what to do or how to do it.
