  1. How is your AC?

I'm in Houston. Definitely recommend getting your windows tinted, that will help. If you're one of the people that likes going into a store, office etc and enjoy it being freezing when it's hot and humid outside, then you probably won't find the JL that comfortable. It works well enough for...
  2. High Fives / Peace

I have observed incredibly poor return rates (from both lifted and stock) to the point now I don't even look at oncoming Jeeps so I don't feel obligated to wave and inevitably get rejected/ignored. I live in Houston and my girlfriend claims people don't wave back often "in the city". She also...
  3. Key Fob Leaving Vehicle While Engine Is On

Not that I can think of. I'm sure some would dispute it over a very specific situation, but for 99% of the time, if the car is in park or not moving while the key fob is not present, that should be an indication it can and should safely shut off.
  4. Key Fob Leaving Vehicle While Engine Is On

It was in park, and I always have my emergency brake on too (also not in enclosed area as I would have had a better chance at hearing the engine). I will say again, point of this post was me wondering if there is a safety net. I have read in the past the Jeep will shut off if the engine is on...
  5. Key Fob Leaving Vehicle While Engine Is On

You'd be surprised how often people forget with keyless cars. Outside if there is enough noise, you don't hear the engine running. Of course a silly mistake on my part, but even as I approached my Jeep I saw the "Key Fob Has Left The Vehicle" through the window before noticing the engine still...
  6. Key Fob Leaving Vehicle While Engine Is On

Clever response. It was outside in a busy park, noisy, and as I pointed out I was surprised myself I made that mistake as I never have. Whole point of this post is me wondering if there is a safety net for a similar situation.
  7. Key Fob Leaving Vehicle While Engine Is On

Good point, obviously you wouldn't want the engine to shut off while driving from a dead fob battery. However, I would imagine while in "drive" that shouldn't be possible. I thought if the car is in park, in addition to no key fob being present, that would think be enough of a sign that the...
  8. Key Fob Leaving Vehicle While Engine Is On

So I did something incredibly stupid over the weekend, however I thought there would be a safety net in such situations... Basically what happened was I parked the Jeep to go for a bike ride. Two hours later when I get back, I notice the engine is still on. Clearly I forgot to press the button...
  9. Hello! Future JL owner here

Haven't read through all the replies on here but my JL 4 door feels like it has plenty of room to not feel claustrophobic. It may be the "boxy-ness" she's not used to and is more accustomed to the modern sleek curves on vehicles these days. Not sure if it will help, but the JL has a much...
  10. How comfortable are the seats in JLU Sport?

I've personally found the lack of a dead pedal to be the most uncomfortable part. My left leg kind of hangs there awkwardly. Never thought about it until I did a 3 hour road trip. First thing I noticed hopping out is my knee a little sore. The seats itself are fine to me. If anything force you...
  11. Top feature you wish the JL(U) had but doesn't

Sliding center console (moves forwards and backwards). Sounds unnecessary, but makes huge difference for comfort resting your arm.
  12. People that have gone from "sporty" rides to a Wrangler... be honest now... do you regret it?

I've never had a pure sporty car, but my Audi had plenty of punch to zip through the highway. Same as you, I was worried as soon as the newness of the JL wore off I would miss being able to accelerate as easy and other advantages of a faster vehicle. After having my JL for a few months (I should...
  13. JLUR owners with cloth seats chime in

Got a Sport S so obviously came with cloth. Very pleased with the quality and comfort so far and has the right look for a Jeep. Only concern is the quality when it gets wet? let's say I have the roof off and a thunderstorm comes along (I live in Houston so there's always a good chance for heavy...
  14. On Pavement: Sport, Sahara or Rubicon?

Interesting point, never really considered the seat a factor in terms of comfort. I've read several (usually taller) people complaining about the seat and roominess of the new JL's... I'm not sure how improved Sahara's are in that aspect unless the leather seats makes up for it for some people...
  15. What accessories do you wait most for to be built or invented?

Front or 360 view camera would be awesome. You think that would be more regularly tossed around seeing they would come incredibly handy maneuvering off road.
  16. Why did you buy a Jeep with bad steering?

I don't think most people like to admit it was the excitement and emotions at the time of purchase, but it's also very easy to just not notice any flaws during a test drive and then realize later. My salesperson and I were talking during the test drive... I still tried to focus on the...
  17. On Pavement: Sport, Sahara or Rubicon?

Cabin noise is perfect IMO. It's enough where it's actually enjoyable to hear the noise of driving like you should in a Wrangler, but not so much where you can't even enjoy listening to music on the freeway (I have a hardtop so that's the case at least for me). I did a weekend trip to Austin...
  18. On Pavement: Sport, Sahara or Rubicon?

I agree! I thought bumps would be a lot more "felt" but surprisingly isn't bad at all. Still haven't done anything off the pavement just yet, still in my "new car phase" so even running simple weekend errands in it is enough fun for me. I haven't taken any cool photos just yet, decided to snap a...
  19. Non Rubicon Owners - Would you have paid for upgrades?

I have a Sport S and have no regrets. Would have liked the bigger uconnect screen (I have 7") and the parking sensors (not a big deal- my former car just spoiled me where I could hear how close I'm getting to something), but honestly, can't think of a whole lot I'm missing out on for the massive...
  20. On Pavement: Sport, Sahara or Rubicon?

Think on road performance (assuming kept stock) between the Sahara and Sport would be marginal. I can say myself after driving both briefly, couldn't feel a difference...but that was briefly so who knows after a longer drive. As you alluded to, I think you'll see the real difference once you...
