97mph in my Willys felt better then 90 or so in my Tacoma.

I like steady- after some slight upgradesTop speed of a jeep wrangler, hmm. That thought never crossed my mind. I hit 70 mph a few times. That's more than I need. I like slow & steady.![]()
If you want to find out get a NoLimitz JL and stand on it until it won’t go any faster… or you chicken out, whichever comes first. Is the max speed on the JL capped? I find that the Jeep does not have the same power and speed as the v8 chevy truck with a 5.3L LS engine. Not that I'm expecting it to compare its just that there is so much less power with the 3.6L

Why would you have to worry about that? It's not the speed of a Wrangler you have to worry about, it's trying to take a corner or curve at speed that I wouldn't attempt.
I had a manual 3.6 with the most aggressive gears available at the time (4.10s). Absolute dog in every performance characteristic. But then again, we lived at 7,400 feet and would usually go to higher altitudes to play. The manual shifter get the 3.6 up to top speed quickly from what I remember, that was a Sahara with Rubicon wheels.
The governor in these things is pretty damn abrupt. In my EcoDiesel you hit it like a brick wall, even though it has plenty of power to go well beyond it.I know for a fact that if you hit the 98mph governor in a 97 obs silverado something like 3x it’ll go past that 98mph governor. I’ve had my Silverado to 124mph racing up the grapevine many many many years ago!
I wonder the same thing about my lawn tractor. I wonder if the top speed is governed? It’s just so darn slow compared to my neighbor’s corvette, or even his Camry! Is the max speed on the JL capped? Depends on the original tires.Isn't the governor like 97MPH or something? Thought I read that somewhere.
You are not alone, my son called yesterday hyped about the Moab. I told him it was actually an ~$10K cut not $20K but it was a “package” so likely a cheaper base model with black top and maybe other features made options. Well, he is selling his “Last Call” Charger, hot RZR 4 wheeler and the oldest of his 2 Harleys,Driving a sports car fast is lots of fun, but this isn't that. Still want a 392, though![]()
Yeah, I read it in the "standard features" on the build-and-price page for my year/trim. Though I just looked up a few different trims for MY25 and honestly can't make any rhyme or reason for the max speed as it relates to original tire choice. The Sport with 31.5" all-seasons and the 392 with 34.5" all-terrains are both limited to 110, while both the Rubicon with 32.5" and XR with 34.5" all-terrains are showing 97 MPH max.Depends on the original tires.
