EXACTLY! By myself I could only hold 2 of the apparently 3 things that had to be held - I also had to go a bit against the anti flop, trying not to put too much pressure on it. I was not as diligent on cleaning the antisieze since I didn't want corrosion between the steel ninja washer and the aluminum tie rod. Could be why mine loosened up. I have the ninjas crushed really tight now. If I have to start over I will give a serious look at the Synergy tie rod.
Next time you are looking at it ck and see if your flop dissapears as you get to full lock. Im curious.

Got an alignment readout today and pretty happy with results! Not bad for a garage floor alignment on jack stands...Was shooting for about 6.5 degrees caster, drives great and tracks straight.

When I saw your post title, I expected you were doing a Cali drop... which I plan on doing some time, to make my Rubicon into a Mario Kart.

Have not done much yet... I have a a full WARN winch install planned... though I am using a WARN install kit, the only kit Jeep uses for factory X Rubicons.

Yeah, seems that there is a lot of open area at the front. Shouldn't loose a thing, like the interior. Ha!

The big bulky black plastic latches are not aerodynamic and seem to stand out too much. The more trim lined locking latches were easy to disassemble for painting. They fit tight and will need some adjustment IMO. Used spray can color matched paint. Might strip them to bare metal and send them in our industrial powder coat booth. Our white is a close match, but much more durable. Only if I had a better color option than white... we have a metallic textured gun powder grey that would be awesome to accent or full body a Jeep.

As for decals... the hood was added just before the picture. Did not know Rubicon hoods changed in 2022. The wiper squirter were moved in towards center about 1/8" and forward towards nose about 1/8". Donno why, but the newer hood decal won't fit 2018 to 2021 hoods proper. Had to touch up the open areas with flat black, which is better than leaving the white show around the raised bumper stops.

The X addition was to give head scratches to some jeepers and to let the public be aware new Rubicons can be X versions. Which Jeep should have done but instead leave nothing of an indication.

At little over $54,000 on the 2019 sticker price with Mark ups due to Corona limited numbers, all the options available at extra cost, even tan interior to rid of red instrument panel. It deserves a X badge. Once the WARN winch is installed, it will be worthy enough of its X.

On the Warn winch, the Warn mount kit is great but don't overlook the Grimm one-piece winch mount. Each Jeep seems just a little different but with the Grimm you can usually get away with not having to shim the front bumper out further than it is already.

I have the WARN kit... I see no issue with extending the bumper out just a little. The center and ends are the weakest part of any bumper. A winch when fully tested can act like a press and distort the bumper. Having frame mounting points allows for winch angles most single plates cannot do. I saw this issue coming before I even considered a winch mounting plate. Add up the stress levels here and you will see why. Winch hook rated beyond what winch and rope can do. The only point of release before damage is rope. Most lines are above a winches capability. So failure will be at the winches mounting location... unless winch breaks, which will either seize or unspool. An unspool being the only chance of possibly saving a bumper using a winch plate.

Example if someone was willing... I would hook nose to nose with winches my setup against their what ever winch plate setup and have a shoot out on bumper survival. Place 20 feet of cable between hooks and throw it in 4low lockers enabled. See who's bumper does not distort.

Now that suspension is 100%, time to turn my attention to the audio system...
Today were the first steps, removed the Alpine sub in the cargo floor and reclaimed the much needed cargo space in the JLR-X. Then installed the passenger side JL Audio Steathbox, fits like a glove and zero interference with folding the seat! Also added some additional sound deadening including some spray-on Boom Mat under the wheel liners and additional poly-fill under the rear hard plastic trim. Was going to just remove the wheel liner for the JL Stealthbox install but Jeep is using steel rivets to hold the XR fender extensions on so just removed the entire fender flare, of course most of the plastic clips broke so heading to dealer first thing in morning...

JL Audio Stealthbox, a perfect fit and no interference with folding the rear seat! (*Rear seat removed till other audio upgrades complete)

Reclaimed my 'lost' storage! Ordered the inset mat/liner for the storage cubby and also the two cargo floor Trail Rail pieces that my '20 JLR has, like the Trail Rail system much better than the chrome 'D' rings. Don't know why Jeep discontinued it as an option,

No, I have an JL Audio VX800/8i for the component speakers and a JL Audio mono amp for the sub. I bought these a couple of years ago for my '20 JLR and got too busy to install them and then decided to keep them for my next Jeep....I also have a passenger side JL Stealthbox and tempted to order the '23 rear wheel well trim so I can also use it. Will probably wait to see how one fares first however!

We sell JL Audio home subwoofers, the Gotham G2 is a beast with dual 13's, 4500 watts and 360 pounds! Since we are a home JL dealer, I got my car audio kit at the 'friends & family' price, while still pricey it did save me a bit.

I really appreciate all the audio details.. i miss my 2018 JLUR factory sound system, it was great.. my new 2024 JLR was ordered without it to save $5k.. now you gave me some options to consider..
