Real Prices aren’t going up. Go to jeep.com and look how many 2024 still in lots. Covid led to way too big of price increases in vehicles. Lookat stellantis profit.

with used market cooling and recession prices are going one way on new vehicles. Down.

20% or 25% tariffs doesnt equate to a 20% - 25% increase in total cost. It will be incremental, less than that, and will force manufacturers to lower their profit margin in order to sell goods. Buyers will buy, at slightly increased costs.

There is a lot of fat in those $1 wholesale widgets being sold for $50, just make the darn thing local like the old days. Wallstreet gets $2 instead of $49, and everyone wins.

Well, Covid showed us what to expect. Used vehicle prices will start to increase with demand as production for new vehicles stops. The parts supply will stop moving by end of week early next week when supply runs out, as already stated by parts suppliers.
The projected price increase on vehicles due to tariffs is estimated to be average $1200-$1600 per vehicle. This will drive sales away from US made vehicles. Hopefully this doesn’t last long.

RIGHT!!! Share holders put business’s out of business for their own greed. Umbrella companies don’t care whether a business survives or not as long as they get their money.

That is why we are in the problem we are in, pure greed from people that don't make anything, but own paper and expect something from nothing, and that something need to keep growing every year......then Wrangler buyers are bewildered as to why the prices keep going up.

If you have a factory local, it's almost impossible to keep satisfying growing shareholder greed.

And when all the cheap foreign materials stop being cheap there is no reason for local materials to match those prices and those rise as well.

Or maybe they will figure we can live without a lot of the bullshit they put on the Jeep. Who the fuck really needs footwell lights. Or the 50 lights we put on the front of the vehicles. Or the tons of nanny features that are included, but not needed. Or the TV screen infotainment system.

Cut out all this electronic bullshit, which is not needed anyways, and the price can come down.

MODERATORS: I don't know how to have this conversation without it being somewhat political, I'm going to try and keep it as non-political as I can, but if you guys feel the need to, by all means do what you got to do!

With these 20% tariffs on things coming in from China, I don't see how the Jeep Wrangler and other Jeep brand products, along with the whole automotive industry here in the United States, isn't going to have major price increases.

Every Mopar brand part I've ever ordered always comes with a little tag on it that says made in China. I know a few companies now who are having their parts made in the United States. I was watching a video this morning from Dirt Road Cred about their new footwell lighting which is made exclusively in the USA, and the price shows it... $200 for four foot well lights.

I've done the math myself, the things that I order from AliExpress and Alibaba, even with a 20% tax is still significantly less expensive than anything similar made in the United States.

So what do y'all think, Are we going to get a major increase in the cost of Wranglers because of these tariffs? You think they will be major or minor? Or maybe they'll start manufacturing parts here in the good ole US of A, $70,000 Wranglers will become $200,000 Wranglers overnight? :surprised:
Remember these 25% Tarrifs are @ Wholesale prices/NOT Retail
Always remember the saying, what costs a nickel leaving China, costs the US consumer $1 by time it hits their hands.

The problem with DRC is whenever they "launch" a new product, their price is sky high. It was the same story with their cargo cover they tried to make a couple years ago. They were asking $700 for it. For what its worth, I was interested in the DRC lights until I made it to the end of the video and they did not tell the price....That was a clue. I looked it up and saw the price was $100 for two single color lights and $200 for two RGB lights with remote. Super high for what you get vs the usefulness of the product.

As far as the market goes, I guess it will be all about us as consumers. If we chose to pay the higher prices, the companies will pass them onto us. If we decide to not buy them anymore and do without (not an American strong point) then the companies will change their approach.

So they get rid of the extras and still charge more. Say they keep prices where they are, but cut options as you said, is that a better value for your money? Regardless, the consumer will pay a cost, whether it’s a shrinkflation on grocery items, or nooptionflation in vehicles, you’re going to get less.

Not really anyway to put lipstick on the pig that makes it more attractive, unless you really love pigs. But then if you love pigs with lipstick you may have bigger issues in your life than the cost of a new Jeep.
