lol, not $30knunser sticker and $23k less than I paid 3 months ago. Jeep is not doing 0% in wranglers btw. This just confirms what I knew, that jeep resale has turned to trash. I also have a Bronco, and for fun put that in. Was given a $56k offer for my used Bronco.

so jeep is no longer the resale champ, it’s hit the bottom.
oh and my Bronco is a 2024, jeep a 2025.

the Bronco offer is around $6k less than I paid. The new offer is $22k less than I paid.
So sell the Bronco.

The days of eating very little shit on a used Wrangler regardless of the year, mileage, top, and condition (as long as it didn't piss oil) died with the JK.

That was Carvana telling you they don't really want it. In 2 weeks you could get a completely different number. Look and see how many late model 2 door listings they have, and what that asking prices are. Also, you're color is polaraizing. Change the color to silver and see what the number is. Few people will want an orange one, but those who do will have to have it.

Long story but will keep it as short as I can.

I have a 2025 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door, Extreme Recon Package. Joose. Sticker was $54k, paid mid 40's. Did a Carvana quote for giggles and then quoted me $23, 200 for it. It has 2500 miles and was bought just 3 months ago. This is CRAZY! This is $31k under sticker and about $20k less than I paid 3 months ago. Is Jeep resale really this bad nowadays? I even had to do a manual estimate and speak with someone at Carvana as it was so new. No damage, no issues, even had it serviced already.

Tell you what... Cuz you're a valued forum member, I'll raise that offer to $23.5K. You're welcome! I'll pick it up this weekend.

I always look at what would it cost me to replace it. You should be a little below that number.

This is exactly what the real value is, what you would have to pay to buy a similar one.

The only time I didn't keep a Wrangler long term was when they were paying very close to my purchase price, that happened with the 2015 JK, I mainly got rid of it because it didn't have the Alpine, and same with the 2018 JL, I traded it for the 2021 4xe, got $1,000 less than what I paid for it, almost 3 years later.

It’s good that you are not trying to sell it for real. Unless you really want to sell something, the resale doesn’t really matter. A few years down the road if you decide you want to sell it then that is when the resale counts.

Or maybe it will be your forever Jeep…I picked up my new 2025 a couple of weeks ago and they were stacked DEEP with both new and used. If I had a trade they probably would not have given me much of anything.

General state of the automotive industry right now between lack of sales, high interest, high inventory it’s probably a bad time to sell anything

Try the NADA or Bluebook websites and see what it should bring in trade or re-sale.

Back in May/June I checked Carvana and they gave me an offer of 13k for my 2019 and that was based on it being in perfect condition. If they knew what it was like in person I think it would be closer to around 8-9k which I think is what someone would pay in a private sale (if I could even find someone who would want it which I doubt.)

I agree with @The Last Cowboy in that it could be the color hurting you. Most people don't want something different. They want black, grey or white.

Consider likewise the baggage that Carvana itself has been carrying.

From the linked article:

"Carvana’s business already faces major headwinds. Used vehicle prices have declined 20.3% in the past 3 years, according to the Manheim Price Index. Subprime auto loan delinquencies are now higher than during the Global Financial Crisis, per Fitch."

There's also the shadow that hovers over the sale of a new vehicle by its original owner so soon after purchase.
That article is from a firm that shorts stocks it" ivestigates for malfeasance."

I don't think it's an incredibly reliable source. Carvana's stock bottomed out about two years ago when car prices were all wacky. They're now near an all time high because they're moving volumes similar to carmax.

Any online price engine like carvana, carmax or kbb will give you an unfounded number on the current model year. There simply isn’t enough data (transactions) for that model year for their estimates to adjust to market demand correctly. Some of these guys (I believe KBB) will even say “sorry we can’t give you a number at the moment. That goes both for the “algorithm” and “the experts”.

this exercise is completely useless and any emotions or upset over it are a waste of your sanity.

sorry but I don’t get your post at all - you’re p****** off about resale value but you’re a) not actually selling and b) have no grounded number to compare to yet you c) blow up like a pufferfish over this.

The clickbait title also doesn’t help.

They will tell you “sorry we don’t have a value yet” as they should.

In my opinion, it’s not as much the color as it’s a 2 door. Very few want a 2 door Jeep. Add 2 more doors and I bet it goes up 5-10k. A small selective group want the 2 door and usually it’s a bare bones Sport with a manual or the old Jeeps.
