oh and my Bronco is a 2024, jeep a 2025.

the Bronco offer is around $6k less than I paid. The new offer is $22k less than I paid.
I sold my 2019 2 door sport S for 21.5k to a used car dealer. Carvana offer was 21k. Less than 2 months ago.

This was a 6 year old 2 door jeep I paid about 30k when new. It eas either 30 or 31, I dont remember.

Did you just ignore that?

Joose isn't a popular color, most people buying a XR want the Rubicon sticker on the hood and winter is coming. Very nitch vehicle and not something that will sell fast. You should keep it, it will only go up in value for the next 5 years from the $21k.

My Bronco is still worth more than what I paid new in 2022, but Ford doesn't make stripped down versions anymore.

That Carvana quote is trade in value, not resale value. They are offering you $23,XXX for trade in and they will flip it back on their lot for upper $40s.

I know the feeling, I have a 2024 loaded Sahara sticker almost $61,000 with 14k was offered everywhere $34,000 -38K.
I want out, worst expenditure I have ever made, worst I mean worst factory and dealership I ever. I am going to take hit as it can only be a lesser value . No dealers want this trade and confirmed over and over.

Carvana biz model is not to give sellers the full value of the vehicle. Otherwise, how would they earn anything? Trade-in value is always a lot less. Carvana, or a dealer, need to freshen it up and then try to sell it to someone else for a decent profit. For a more accurate valuation, look at what sellers are getting for used Wrangler with similar attributes.

In most cases, one still gets their best vehicle deals, on the last day of the month. But even better, is the last day of the year.

Could be they just have too many jeeps in their inventory. IMO, low Carvana offer price doesn't mean market price is low.

I just sold them a Prius and I was told by them that the offer was high due to it being a high demand vehicle. It was ~$1200 more than Edmunds/KBB and $2000 more than what the local dealer was willing to pay. It was also ball park with what I was seeing for retail on craigslist.

lol, not $30knunser sticker and $23k less than I paid 3 months ago. Jeep is not doing 0% in wranglers btw. This just confirms what I knew, that jeep resale has turned to trash. I also have a Bronco, and for fun put that in. Was given a $56k offer for my used Bronco.

so jeep is no longer the resale champ, it’s hit the bottom.
Might just be you, they just offered me $28,000 for my Rubi from 2021 with 89,000 miles on it. Roughly 6000-6200 in depreciation a year, which is right on average. So I think it isn't as much that Jeep, specifically the Wrangler, is depreciating any worse than anything else, more so what you buy is the problem.
Maybe your specific model/options are an issue.

Seems pretty upset for something that was done just for giggles.

Just looked at mine on kbb. 2021 bought in Feb. Still lists for more than I paid for it so......

There are 2 XR Willys for sale nationwide on cars.com. One is $43ish, the other $45ish. No way in hell I would pay that for a used 2024, when they can be had for that or less new.

What they offered you is not resale, it's what it's worth to them. They will obviously retail it for more. IMO a loaded, used, 2 door, 2024 XR Willys is worth at most $40k and I wouldn't even pay that with what I could buy a new 2025 for. $23k seems very low compared to what they are or should retail for, but they don't believe so.

The Carvana quote is in error. KBB says $36-38k for a 2024, but doesn't have 2025 values yet. Most likely they didn't have anything to go on so they gave you a number they knew you'd never take.

Wranglers have lost some of their resale value magic but not THAT much.

If you care at all about easy resell of an SUV, don't buy 2-door, don't buy manual, don't buy funky colors, don't buy cloth seats.
While I was waiting for my factory order to arrive, my salesman offered me a fair deal on a customer refusal JLU. It seems that the husband didn't tell his wife that he had ordered a Sport. When they arrived at the delivery appt. and she discovered the presence of manual locks, mirrors and windows, she refused to co-sign the loan ppwrk. That in turn prevented them from taking possession of the vehicle. Yep.

I remember in covid I did the same thing with my JLR. it was worth 2K more with Carvanna the day I drove it home... it's not supposed to work that way.
When my JLU was 7 months old, in May 2021, Carvana offered me $5K more than I paid for the vehicle. I had no intention of selling, and knew full well why the market was as distorted as it was at that time.

Yes, they do. I just built a Base yesterday on the Configurator site.

I don't sell my vehicles the same year I buy them. Especially when bought new. If you want something short-term, next time try a lease.

Exactly. People say things like "they want simpler cars", "they don't need power everything", "I prefer manual for my commute to work", etc....but they don't really mean it. Certainly not for a mainstream vehicle.

That's why Jeep stopped offering Wranglers without AC, without power windows and without big screens. They are unsellable. And that is why Slate will be DOA, beyond the few curiosity buyers.

Sorry to hear you are not happy with the vehicle and are looking at a major loss. But given that you already bought it, have you thought about just finding a better dealer and let them address whatever issues you may have? I found out that Jeep's depreciation is steep upfront but then levels off big time, and year 5+ is the sweet spot to re-sell.
