I really don't think this is a "Jeep dealer" thing. I think generally speaking, there is a ton of turnover at car dealerships. Salesmen have to make money by selling vehicles, and if they don't they move on. The hours aren't great and it can be a tough business. Service Writers are a terrible idea, they generally are idiots who know absolutely nothing but pretend to know more than you. Low paid, high turnover. "Technicians" vary. There are better paid guys and less well paid guys. The oil and tire jockeys are usually terrible. As owners of expensive vehicles, we look at an oil or tire change as a critical thing that must be done right. They look at your $100k Wrangler 392 as just another vehicle. And they are right, but the problem is they don't treat it with care.

In 2017, I custom ordered a brand new, highly optioned F-350 crew cab 4x4 diesel Lariat Ultimate which stickered for almost $76k. There were no free oil changes, so I paid the $157 for the initial change. I noticed when I checked the oil later, it was more than a quart overfilled, so I had to drain some off. The second oil change, I paid another $157 at the dealer I bought the truck from, went back to work, and noticed oil dripping from under the truck. They changed the oil filter, but left the old rubber gasket stuck to the oil filter flange and just threaded the new one on. After that, I did my own oil changes.

Wednesday, I'm taking my Gladiator for its first oil change at the local Jeep dealer (not where I bought it) under the Wave oil change program. Hopefully it goes well. The guy on the phone said they will change the oil and rotate the tires. Well, I have 295/70/18 tires mounted on stock rims and wheel spacers; frankly I don't care if they rotate them because I understand its extra work with those heavy tires. I can do it myself. But I want the oil change done right, and I don't want oil dripped all over the top of the engine where the filter is.

I don't want to say they aren't very conscientious service writers, techs, and dealer managers and salespeople out there. I'm sure there are.

You shouldn’t have left the first time. And after the threats I can either beat his ass or call the cops and go all the way with it and go after the dealer civilly, hurt these scum bags in the pocket that’s all they seem to care about. Keep calling , emailing jeep and the dealer big shots keep a paper trail on them so if this scum bag does anything to u or comes to yr house etc… there’s a record of the incident. Don’t just do nothing about it.

Another MAsshole here, I had another terrible service at a dealer local to me. Long story short, I tried to get them to fix my jeep that was having some death wobble issues. The jerk at the service desk kept insisting that it was because my steering stabilizer was bad. I told him that I just changed it out to a Fox 2.0 TS. I told him that it was very unlikely and that the dealer should inspect ball joints etc. As the exchange started to get into an argument he told me that they can't do anything because I installed the steering stabilizer myself. He then went on to say that my extended warranty was now void. I told him that I will just go to another dealer and that they weren't worth such nonsense and he told me that because he put it "in the system" that all dealers would say the same thing. I told him that was BS because the dealer never even touched my jeep and he can't just put whatever he wants on the record. It was about to turn ugly at that point so I just left.

After that fiasco I have completely given up all hope on Jeep and the dealers. Never have I ever been treated so poorly before in my life. I had created a case number with Jeep etc. but have gotten radio silence since. I've been taking it upon myself to fix my own issues. As the OP described, you can't even trust a dealer to rotate tires. Sad but this is the new low dealers have turned into.

I don’t have many options here. Cops are useless across the board. They don’t arrest anyone. Shit they don’t even pull people over anymore here. Heroin, cocaine, illegal weapons, means nothing anymore. No charges.

My taco got totaled by a person high af and he got no ticket and was able to drive home. There was a cop there to file the report.

I can call the dealer more. But they don’t answer, or do not call back. They even canceled my part order without telling me. I can write letters/emails etc. but there’s no accountability anymore. So my hands are kinda tied.

Jeep corporate told me I’m SOL since jeep dealerships are independently owned and jeep corporate has no control or any power over any dealerships or what they do.

I get no points for beating a dumb fuck up. Except maybe losing my job etc.
If be touched me yeah. Then I would’ve beat flames out of him. I have too much to lose.

I’ll just keep putting it out there and tell as many people as I can about their shitty service and ethics.

Fuck, jeep won’t even reimburse me a wave service. They didn’t even rotate my tires right, so have to do that tomorrow after I get new wheel swapped and mounted.

I might have missed it but did you go to the BBB? I don't think much of the BBB in general, but when I had a problem with a Jeep dealer I made a complaint (not a review!) to the BBB and the dealer just about shit himself. He said that he would make things right, just remove the complaint. I said that I would remove it after he made things right. The BBB sent the dealer a notice the same day that I made the complaint. Dealers hate to have an unresolved complaint at the BBB. I'll tell you, it surprised me!

I thought New York jeep dealers were total shit heads but I guess it’s more all over. It got worse since the covid horseshit. They didn’t even have to try to sell nothing they just slapped a piece in and said take it. And most did. Eventually it will bite them all on the ass. I agree what yr doing is better then fighting n loosing yr job. Someone suggested BBB use them if u haven’t yet. Good luck n sorry u went tru that experience

The dealership in question looks like a family affair. They predominantly hire family members, so there is an air of invincibility. Those employees are not worrying about getting fired when family has their back.

Wow. Jeep corporate is fucking awful to deal with. They have everything documented about what happened and that the case manager said I could get reimbursed the jeep wave service since they damaged my vehicle and rotated the tires wrong.

I was transferred from one department to the next with no one able to do anything, or them continually telling me it’s someone else I need to talk to.

Finally talk to a woman there who says, I can see all that’s happened but there’s nothing we can do. Go talk to the service manager. WTF lady. And this is after I explained everything again for the millionth time. Seriously fuck jeep

Why are these people so GD stupid.

@Riotfunk - have you gone to Boston Channel 7's "Solveit7"? At this point, I think it's your best path to get the dealer to do something.

You shouldn't have to ask the dealer for this; Jeep has a tracker system.
