Wrangler smells absolutely awful inside.

For the past few weeks my wrangler is absolutely horrid inside. 2022 rubicon cloth hard top with 7500 miles. It’s worse in the heat, I thought maybe coolant but no indication of any coolant loss. I leave nothing in the vehicle like tools or chemicals. It’s not the jumper cables and roadside kit from my VW because it never made my car stink. Any ideas?
Did you ever checked your cabin filter? Was this very dirty and black ?

Did you ever checked your cabin filter? Was this very dirty and black ?
The evaporator is usually the culprit. It gets wet with condensation and organic contaminants, like pollen and dirt, then it sets in the warm summer evenings and creates some kind of bacteria. A good foam evaporator cleaner will clean it up in most cases.

I tried Rain-x windshield cleaner fluid during the summer and it smelled like stagnant swamp water. Just on the off chance that could be it. Now I just buy the cheapest blue stuff I can find.

Just so everyone knows, in the Army that is colloquially known as a “shart.” That’s where you start to fart, and some poop sneaks out with it - usually wet, of course.
Reminds me of an episode of "Superstore" where the store manager decides to combine words to save time. One suggestion was to say shart instead of shopping cart.

From experience, and as you'll no doubt agree, take due care with that brand.

The green, summer-specific Bug Remover formula works reasonably well. The purple De-Icer winter formula, which is in the Jeep as I type this post, also works very well for its advertised purpose. I've used both versions for several years now, and in several vehicles, to no ill effect.

The -32°F winter formula, for example, hasn't ever turned to frost as soon as it hits the glass, whereas the generic blue wash fluid, ostensibly rated to -20°F, will recurringly do so on the coldest days (of which we've had our fair share just this year.)

However, the Rain-X orange 2-in-1 All-Season formulation is something I counsel others to avoid at all times and in all places. Its broadband performance is middling, and more critically, it'll tend to form slimy deposits on the bottom of the fluid reservoir over time and particularly if the driver isn't using the Wash function frequently. This is what clogs and burns out pump motors.
