Is a Wrangler the only vehicle without a dead pedal??? It's one of the only things I'm not liking about my new Willys.
I would be curious to know what % of people care if there even is a dead pedal (no offence). I never noticed or cared. I couldn't tell you in any of my vehicles if they have them or not.

I can't think of a single time in all my years of driving that I've ever wanted to rest my foot on a dead pedal. I can, though, think of a multiple times where I've driven a car that had a dead pedal and wished it hadn't been there so I could stretch my leg out more. I always figured the floorboard bumped up there due to a design constraint, not as a "feature".

Why doesn't the vehicle with the narrowest foot well of anything anywhere near it's size come with a useless extra pedal in what little space is left down there? On a track car I get it. In a Jeep...with an auto? Hard pass. I'll take all the room I can get thanks. How short are people's legs? I can easily rest my foot on the lower part of the firewall. How inflexible are your ankle that you can't put your foot flat on the floor in the upright driving position of the JL? I've never once thought "I wonder if I can take up even more space in the foot well for nothing".
So just to be clear…you don’t have a dead pedal?

The transmission tunnel had to be widened in the JL generation Jeeps to accommodate the new transmission. Doing so impinged on footwell space (i.e., its width.)
Well that explains a lot. Funnily enough on the Corvette when they went from the C4 to the C5 the reason they moved the transmission to the rear for the C5 was because of the pedal box width and better foot/leg room. Guess it's not really possible to do that on Wrangler.

My first Jeep I didn’t put in a dead pedal, and I kinda wished I had one. A family member who is 6’5” drove my Jeep and fell in love with it because his big size 14s fit in the footwell and he was able to stretch his leg out without the dead pedal. He ended up buying that Jeep off of me.

At 6’ but with very short legs (29” inseam), I added a dead pedal to my current Jeep and find it increases my comfort greatly.

Why no dead pedal? Because anyone above 5’8” could be cramped in a wrangler with the seat all the way back. I’m 5’10” (32” inseam) and just getting my foot onto the clutch with tall hunting boots is a challenge. I switch to my Ram 1500 and it feels cavernous.

I know it's important. I do. I honestly do. But we're talking about dead padel, man. What are we talking about? Dead pedal? We're talking about dead padel, man!

We're talking about dead pedal! We're talking about dead pedal...

We ain't talking about the actual pedal!

We're talking about dead pedal, man!

Some NBA fans here would get that. lol

I would love a dead pedal on my 6MT Willys - does anyone make one?

I'll tell ya, when we made our Dead pedal for the JL and JT (JK coming soon) it made a world of difference when driving my JT, especially on long trips... so much more comfortable... and the wide range of adjustability that ours has means it works for big (I'm 6'3" 240lbs) and small... only problem is when I go from my manual TJ to my auto JT, I sometimes press down on the dead pedal, and try to shift... lol.

Ding Ding Ding, these comments are on point perfect. I installed the Metalcloak dead pedal and immediately removed it. I'm 6' 2" with 34 inch inseam and the dead pedal seriously cramped my leg making it very uncomfortable because I lost a few inches to stretch my left leg. The dead pedal does position your foot in a more comfortable position but causes my leg to be in a much less comfortable position. The juice was not worth the squeeze.

How could one possibly fit? I'm in my JT mojave right now and with my boot touching the kick panel I have ~3" between the brake pedal and my boot... with an auto. Unless you're dead pedal was above the clutch you couldn't possibly fit your foot next to the clutch unless you have Cinderella feet?

I bought a dead pedal, a few months after buying new. But, I have long legs and enjoy being able to stretch out. So, I haven't installed it. Still in the box, 6 years later.
