I have experienced 5 deg F to 116 this year in Az. Hoping we don't hit 5 again.
I support the AZ division for usdot and have friends in yuma. It's been crazy, like 90deg at 10pm!

So you "corrected" my 64⁰ to 101⁰ with a 77⁰ to 104⁰? That's an even smaller climate variability. Last I checked Texas was on the coast too? Southern AZ is a good 20⁰ hotter. I'll stand by my statement that you need more of a cooling system in the southwest.
Texas is kind of on the coast. Like it is on the coast yeah, but where I'm at it's not even close to the coast. Saying DFW is affected by coastal temperatures is like saying Arkansas is affected by coastal temperatures. Dallas is 279 mi from the closest beach. Shoot, Phoenix, AZ is closer to a beach by a good hundred miles (164mi) than Dallas is. Phoenix also has a generally cooler summer than Dallas as well though. Though I still think Oman takes the cake here!

Thats true, I lived in Brownsville TX, Laredo, TX and Austin, TX and it's dramatically different. Dallas is nice comparatively :)

How hot we talking? I'm over here in DFW in Texas, it's been a hundred plus every day for the last 2 months. My EcoDiesels doing just fine.

If it's the heat you're worried about, as long as you're not suffocating your engine with angry grills, or other hideous forms of wind blockage, you should be fine. How many vehicles drive around out here in Texas or even Arizona for that matter with zero issues.

Just make sure you're cool and stopped off and your radiator is getting good air flow, you should be fine.
I took the TRX to Cross Bar a couple of weeks ago when it was 106. I cranked up that 702 hp Hellcat at 6am, drove 2h20m to the Park, wheeled for 7 hours and then drove 2h20m back home. My fan sounded like a jet Fighter but the motor never got hot and I ran the AC on the entire trip, trail and all. I do have an aftermarket bumper and winch which required a oil-cooler relocation and I was worried about less airflow since it eliminated the "RAM-AIR" but it didn't have any issues.

Oil cooler relocation and aftermarket radiator's make a huge difference for sure.

You got me thinking on this. How many used 392's do you see for sale? Yeah, me neither. OK, I lied, 23 for sale on carguru, cheapest going for $75,000. Cannot believe that motor adds $30,000 to price used.
Just wait for the Last Call Special Editions . $29,995 was the markup on the local’s Jailbreak Challenger. Although there was a lesser of the ~8 of them they Only wanted $14,995 over for. Edit—or was it $19,995:piggybank:

If your prime directive is fun to drive, it is worth every dime of that difference.

So tell me, what are all the secret recall tsb etc for the 392? Have not heard of any. I have a thought on that. Folks who buy BMW/MB/Audi are not likely to come on a forum and complain. One, why, two, why would they admit they made a poor choice?

Annnnnd just priced one $88,000, no options, but lowest dealer price $97,000. One going for $101,000.

YGBFSM. Jeep cares you listening? I can get a Ford Bronco Raptor for $89,000 otd, locally. Thats with a $5k market mark up.

Aug of 21 build— No issues, problems, or recalls. Except one self inflicted, didn’t bother to recalibrate after 4.56’s and 35’s since I can add 3.5mph at 65. Got Service 4WD, messed with the computer and had to recalibrate.

Looks like 392 comes standard with 4.56?

Also, my 2020 1500 5.7 came with an annoying cylinder bank shutoff, basically turned 8 into 4 cylinders, they had issue with that design. Anything like that on 392?

I would be more worried about sand infiltration in the air intake and other places of the Jeep in Oman, than the air temperature.

Yes— the only way to disable is manual shift. I have heard reports that OR+ disables on XR’s but can’t verify, hopefully someone will. If so it should on 24’s. But it was the first thing I tried after the “package re-flash for 4.56-35’s” - Nope ?

"Coolant Boost" aka Water Wetter, which has been around for years. I think it's about a buck less per bottle than the stuff put out by the oil cult. It does work..
+1 to Water Wetter. I used it to reduce the coolant temperature trends in a hot-running MGB. As it was blended with coolant, the reduction wasn't significant, but it was enough to move the Temp needle back into Peace of Mind territory.

My preference is the mirror image of yours. :)

I'd suggest the value proposition for the V8 is an intangible, like "Fun" as suggested above...and that's fine. I definitely don't see 38 grand of additional hardware being provided; that figure being the current starting price variance between a Rube and a Rube 392.

They are getting more proud of the 392 than others, especially Willys. Pre XR price comparison between it and the diesel (also proud of). After I added all the 392 “standard equipment” and my options (SOT- tow), the price $77.6K vs a little under $69K, added comparable lift and beadlock capable , considered upgrade shocks, frame reinforcement, water diverting hood and it was nearing a wash. Fun factor can’t be priced, but is prized . ?

Water wetter, good stuff.

now y’all got me thinking, wanted a 2dr. And reality is plenty of 392s in other than white….

I know in the 2020 5.7 there was a hack to make it an 8 cylinder all the time.
