None, actually. Buy a $7 fid and add your own loop to the line. Then just leave a soft shackle in it to keep the line from rolling up into your spool.

Nearly free, almost no added weight, more versatile than a hook, and safer during recovery as there's very little weight on your line.

I went the ultra lightweight and less connection point route.
Perfect. There's no marketing machine behind this method, but it's the best I've found.

Brennan is a really good dude. He's the one that introduced me to the idea of using a soft shackle in a bremmel loop.

Everything he sells is well thought out and non-bullshit. You won't find anything annonizied red or neon blue. Just well made stuff and good prices.

There's a decent chance I'll be moving our Pareto offroad to Durango where he's located and I'm excited to be in the same area.

Either way, I will likely be offering his recovery gear on our site at some point.

I want to try one of his Tauler Jack kits but I have zero welding skills that I would trust. I wish he sold some finished jacks but maybe it’s not worth it for liability or shipping cost reasons?

For sure. Way better than a high lift, at-least for my needs.

There's gotta be a fab guy in your area that would weld it up for you. It's always good to know a guy that can create art with a welder!

This is the guy I use in Denver: https://www.google.com/search?q=Fir...YWIJThkAeI2OF3LuloVRwRnd76Hs5JQ:1716994382245

That'll give you an idea of what to look for.

Yeah I’ve used a shop in the past that has an engineer and certified welders on site that fabricate and weld heavy duty trailers. So maybe I’m just procrastinating. I carry a Hi-lift in addition to a HMMWV H1 jack, but I would be happy to ditch the hi-lift. The Tauler seems less likely to cause unforeseen dental work.

I have a splice in flatlink that I like and have used a fair bit pulling others.
For the rear I have a F55 insert that you can run a d-ring or soft shackle through (I use soft shackles) but reaaaallllly like what @Terrymo posted from Brennan

I have good recovery points that are chamfered for soft shackles on my ARB bumpers. I carry the soft shackle receiver adapter from Brennan in the event I can help another vehicle (like most pick ups) with a receiver hitch.

I removed the metal from the end of my winch line. A soft shackle goes right in. I sold my flat E link.

I'm a fan of the winch thimble fan myself, but I run a knock off $20 amazon special.

Here is a pic of the original Winch Thimble. A friend of who invented it has a testing company and does testing for automakers. I was sent this around 2006, asking me what I thought and to test it. It's
