I took the weekend off to enjoy driving my "pussy" jeep around in the beautiful Dallas weather. I should have just made some popcorn and saved some electrons and been on this thread! Can we just all agree Jeeps > Broncos and hug it out?

I don't know why Jeep didn't build a mild hybrid vice a plug in one. In general, mild hybrids have fewer issues than plug in hybrids or full EVs. Not sure if any 4XEs have experienced a fire while charging, but that thought keeps me away from plug in vehicles..... Good luck with your decision.

These EcoDiesel vs 4XE fights are hilarious. It's like arguing who bought the bigger pile of shit.

Spoiler: The diesel guys win. At least the 4XE has an outrageously long warranty for when it does break.

Buy the 3.6L non e-torque if you plan on keeping your vehicle for a long time. The 2.0L is significantly harder to work on and sounds like a tractor.

The Diesel and 4xe are the two most different of the Wrangler powertrains, and have almost nothing in common, the diesel benefits from high mileage, and long trips, the 4xe benefits from low mileage, and short trips.

Can't decide between the diesel and the 4xe, you are most likely better off buying a 3.6 Wrangler.

I'm not saying the Wrangler 4xe is anything close to a Lamborghini, however this video touches on a few points of PHEV benefits, power, corporate compliance loophole, etc

Going to be trading or selling our 2019 Sport S and looking at the Willy's 4xe models. Had no intention of even considering a 4xe until I drove one at the dealership yesterday. Wow! That power in hybrid mode was fun along with how quiet and responsive it was in electric mode. The Jeep also seemed to ride a bit better than our 2019, guessing the extra battery weight factored there.

Coming from an ICE 2019 Sport S -- What am I going to hate? Looks like I lose the under back seat storage space, any other storage I would lose? Most of our trips are short trips that are under our around 20 miles with a trip once a week that would be ~60 miles. From reading it appears that longer trip may help avoid the dreaded FORM? What are some other common complaints or "I really miss..." that I might not be thinking of at the moment?

Also debating leasing as well to take advantage of the $7500 tax credit. What are some good sites/resources to help me get smart on leasing so I don't get bent over going that route?

Come on man, just having some fun. I thought of you the second I saw this post and thought (in all seriousness) you'd be able to offer a valid opinion.
My opinion is that the OP will dislike owning a 4xe because even posting a 4xe accessory review video is enough to get people who have no experience with the 4xe tell them why they shouldn't like the 4xe. This is a general statement that I am making about everyone and not directing at any particular individual.

Now, kindly refrain from summoning me to 4xe threads.

You have my word... no more summoning. Honestly I thought you had a 4xe until I saw your stats that you have a 2.0.

I am not going to read 11 pages of comments as they all tend to be the same flavor. With the exception of one or two folks that got legit lemons, which happens all the time, with all kinds of vehicles, the haterade is from people who have never owned one, never driven one and are afraid of the technology. So keep that in mind as you do your research. I am in the northern part of KY and I have never had to deal with FORM, in colder climates, different story.

The $7500 credit kind of sucks now, unless you lease, as the government took themselves out of the equation and it is "supposed" to be a discount at the point of sale - which will really mean, the dealers jacked them up by $7500 to give you your "discount" which doesn't mean anything. I was able to take advantage of the credit which was very nice.

x2 on getting a Level 2 EVSE. I used my Level 1 for about 9 months and it works perfectly fine for my driving schedule. I am able to run to town and back on mostly a single charge, which is pretty cool. Using the heater seems to use more battery than using the AC, so just keep that in mind.

Power is great and I have a Rubi. I came from a '97 Wrangler and a '12 Ford F-150, so moving up to a '23 was a big step up in terms of technology and capability.

The 12V batteries are garbage. You would think with that big ass HV battery that you would never have problems with the 12V, but it doesn't work like that. Still need the 12V to actuate the relays for the HV battery to start the car.

I use Max regen and it takes some getting used to in stop-and-go traffic. I never once felt unsafe or anything like that, but when you are coasting, you can feel it pull. It's not unlike those lights you would put on your bike as a kid, the one with the little generator that would spin against your wheel. You can turn off Max regen.

I really loved wheeling in electric mode, BUT my younger brother was in front of me with his XJ without a muffler which kind of drowned out the quiet! But at times the silent trail ride was really cool.

I really love the hardtop more than I thought and I ended up getting the Besttop Sunrider which is really nice.

I only have the one recall and that is the one about the front defroster, which I don't think is exclusive to the 4XE model.

When I made up my mind that I was going to get another Wrangler, I spent a lot of time reading feedback, and keeping an open mind about all of it. I was really thinking about the diesel (for all the reasons people get diesels), but kind of glad I didn't. I wasn't too enamored with the 6-cylinder, with everything I read, and the 4XE, with the turbo 4-cylinder seemed like a good match. If I hadn't ordered the 4XE, I think I might have gone with the 4-cylinder anyway.

Looked at trending threads. Read the OP on this one. Skipped to page 8. Progressing exactly as expected. Saved 20 minutes.

In a nutshell 20 miles of range, battery is under the backseat, means no under seat space, and the back seat doesn't fold level with the rear cargo area, it's fast AF.

You can basically drive for an hour around the city in pure ⚡

What else would you like to know.
