It helps but it's still ugly. They made a lot of these, flooded the market, had some challenges. Again, love mine, but I love it more knowing I leased it. YMMV.
I'll just add my 2 points you should consider, in my opinion:
1)Jeep service, in my experience, is the worst. Being a current Jeep owner, you've either accepted this or actually have a good dealer. While mine has been bulletproof, it has still gone in for 4 recalls in 2 years, each of which...
I did the same. On my previous leases, I had equity and traded out early....it caught up to me this time. I'm jealous on your residual. Mine is pretty negative. Live and learn!!
Different thought- leave it as-is, enjoy and return at the end of your lease. You might be able to pick up a similar build (ie 22 Rubi 4xe) for a song the way these things are NOT holding their value compared to their ICE brethren. In pricing mine, with a year left on the lease, it is ~$10K...
I took the weekend off to enjoy driving my "pussy" jeep around in the beautiful Dallas weather. I should have just made some popcorn and saved some electrons and been on this thread! Can we just all agree Jeeps > Broncos and hug it out?
I was being provocative but point taken. I happen to think the PHEV technology is a much better current bet than full EV. I'm also the first to admit I'm the center target 4xe demo- short commute, mostly urban. I also leased it...as a hedge.
I feel the need to come back and defend my beloved 4xe. It has had far fewer issues than my TJs each had.......so much of what we read on this forum is anecdotal- never work, a friend of a friend's 4xe......to those who have had issues, sorry for your experiences. For those who are just...
Looks like you're in OH- might be in FORM a bit in winter but you'll be set for enjoyable power and MPGe's the other 9 months. Mine has been trouble free thru 15,000 miles. As evo said, the gas tank is small so it might suck on road trips- frequent fill ups- but we have another SUV for that...
I have a roof rack and get 21/22. But that brings up the one major downside to ownership of any model Jeep- Jeep service. Other than that, like most, 15K miles and great vehicle. I won't buy out my lease as the value has dropped like a rock(so much for Jeep resale).
I noticed that same smell, intermittently, early on. At first I was concerned it was the transmission- paranoid they forgot to put fluid in or something. As others said, it went away after a while. I had the same thing with my X3 30e so maybe it is PHEV-specific? Either way, you have...
2 years and 13K miles in, I have, for the most part, really enjoyed my 4xe. It has been a (knocking on laminate) bulletproof vehicle so far. If I could do it over again, I would have gotten a diesel for the torque and consistent driving experience. As many have said, the ICE on these make a...
I was flamed on my first post here as I mentioned the "B" word from that other manufacturer. I don't want to return the flame as I see it's your first post so I'll, nicely, say-
Yes, others have had issues. It's a mechanical thing and this is a forum. You can use the search function.
I...
I made the investment and replaced it right away. If I'm right, it saved me future headaches. If I'm wrong, it was $100 insurance policy. Then again, I had a useless home warranty for 10 years so what do I know? I do know, I haven't had any issues.
I have a 5 mile commute. Love my 4xe. I'm really glad I leased it given the forum horror stories but, luckily, mine has been biullet proof at 2 years and 13K miles. The lease deductions and fact that I fill up once every 6-8 weeks have made it a no-brainer. As a former TJ and YJ driver, it...
I had some FORM issues so I top it off monthly. It takes away the self satisfaction of being able to say I went >1,000 miles on a tank but it keeps me out of FORM and it's a minimal expense.
I'd kill for a loaner- even a Renegade. Every time my Jeep goes in, they keep in minimum of a week and I spend more on a rental then the warranty saves me.
Yes- that is helpful. I think of it as AWD in the newer Audis where the car is constantly adjusting between 2 and 4WD as needed.
To answer your question, I am attaching a screenshot (NOT from my Jeep as it's in service) as an example of the error message-
