I'll second the Maximus-3 winch plate. I was going to go with Grimm Offroad, but they were backordered too. I've had multiple Maximus-3 products and all have been well made and presented no issues.

It looks discontinued at a lot of places. Is it old or is there a newer version?

That's the winch plate we run, no issues in the 2 time we've winched. It did take 4.5 weeks to get back in February.

The dry weight of the 392 is 5,103lbs and loaded weight of the Turtleback is around 2,800lbs bringing the total possible weight to 7,903lbs.

Use your GVWR (loaded weight) instead of dry weight. This number should be around 6100 lbs for a 392 Wrangler. The 1.5 factor applies (6100+2800=8900 x 1.5 = 13350)

Also consider that if you're stuck in the mud and buried to the axle this requires additional pulling power and stronger cable. Some say use the 1.5 factor again for this scenario. You can carry snatch blocks to compensate for some of this weight but then you need additional tie down points. Just depends on the scenario. A 10k winch is better than nothing.

I'm reading that Turtlebacks weigh in closer to 4500 when fully loaded with full water tanks and such. I don't know which options you have but maybe stop at a scale one day and find out the true number.

Thanks I went with the Zeon 12-S. Yes Expeditions do weigh quite a bit, but I bought a getaway which is much smaller. Only about 2800lbs with everything including water.

You can still order a wireless remote to work with your Zeon. With the Platinum however you are stuck with the rechargeable problem child remote, and no way to attach something else. Zeon was the way to go.

You might want to look at the Rockhard4x4 winch plate. It tilts the winch slightly to give more clearance for the wires up against the grill (their installation video mentions it). Seems to be a common problem. This one is for the factory steel bumper. Rock Hard 4x4™ Winch Plate for Factory Steel Front Bumper for Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT 2018 - Current [RH-90206]

They make a different one for factory plastic bumpers

Shoot. I went with the Maximus 3. Hopefully I don’t have any issues.

I did get the wireless remote. The issue with it is that it has battery bleed. I have tested mine several times, fully charged will go dead in just a little over a month. It still works if it is plugged to USB port. Not really an issue for me. There is also a permanent fix by adding a switch to the battery and will stay charged for months. Warn is sending me another battery for a spare. On the non platinum you can purchase the wireless adapter and use your phone as the remote via bluetooth.

Keep in mind the full capacity of the winch is only available when you have the minimum necessary wraps on the spindle for winching. As you add more wraps of cable to the spindle on the winch the capacity declines. This is why some people prefer to run shorter cables/ropes and use winch extensions so the winch maintains its optimum torque.
