I have a 2 door Rubicon, the GVW is 5500. The 8 draws less amps then the 10. Is there any other advantage to the 10 ? The Jeep won't be at the max gvw, I don't plan on pulling out F350's just the Jeep. Thanks group1

Can you see yourself every getting stuck frame deep in mud? That is when you will want the 10. If you are just needing a tug to get off of a rock you are high centered on, the 8 will be enough.

I had a Ram Power Wagon that got buried frame deep in mud, and the stock Warn 16.5K winch almost wasn't enough.

FWIW- the old rule of thumb is a winch rated twice the vehicle weight. I had an 8K on my small light 63 as was typical. Sure you can increase it …. IF you have the cable length to an anchor and back.

so everything always goes as planned ?
I didn’t plan on running the 3A into a quicksand hole requiring 2 CJ5’s and an FJ 40 with a broken winch, but used all the cable and chain we had hooking all together getting the FJ’s wheels on solid ground to pull it out. …
a 2200 lb 3A
