Mine is my daily driver, and it has the tires it came with. Since you will be dealing with New York winters, you will probably appreciate the Rubicon tires even more.

I have a JLUR on 35s and 2" lift aaaaand it's my daily driver - Drives and feels exactly the same as stock.

My wife has a Subaru Outback (more comfortable on the road) - if I ask her which vehicle she wants to take when we go out, she always chooses the Rubicon. Yea it might not be as comfy as a Cadillac, but they're comfy enough to get you to point B.. with lots of smiles on the way.

Leg room sucks if you are tall as well as seat sits too high, but you I put up with that because vehicle is fun!

My JLUR is a daily driver and my kids LUV it. My wife & I drive into work together every day. Having said that, I do prefer my wife’s Mercedes for long road trips though...hard to beat the ventilated seats & radar-enabled cruise control

P.S. Stock tires are great on road
I sort of feel like a Rubicon owner shouldn’t type LUV. Ever.

It just doesn’t feel “alpha”. :)

Wow.......it seems like a norm to the Rubicon as a daily driver.

Sounds like a handful of us on the forums. But when you compare Rubicon to the other trims, its just badass.

I think you'll find the Rubicon owners outnumber non- Rubicon owners on this forum. I'm not lucky enough to own a Rubicon, just the rims, tires, rock rails and suspension...!

Thanks for your input. I also always wanted a Rubicon....The aesthetics of the Rubicon, looks freaking amazing compared to Sahara, and all the other trims.....
At the end of the day, I'm driving a WRANGLER. And we all know it isn't a comfort car, or a sports sedan.

I'm just trying to change or reduce the bumpiness, to make it family friendly. I figured changing tires?
At the end of the day , a Jeep is different from anything else .

It's not that "bumpy"...just keep the tires it comes with. The ride it fine...

Your Rubicon is a Jeep. From the factory, it can be a DD, a mall crawler, a ridge runner, or a rock crawler. In short, it can be what you want it to be except one thind....it is a Jeep and as such will NEVER be a car. Not today, not yesterday, not tomorrow.....it never has been nor will it ever be a car. Delete that word from your mind when thinking of your Jeep.

Smile when you look at it and remember, "My Jeep is not a car....it is a Jeep!" And THAT is something to be proud of!

You will love your Rubicon with its KO2 tires... you will be fine.

I had a JKU Sahara and I really don’t feel any disadvantage to my JLU Rubicon... for me, the confort is the same.

Good luck in your purchase!

2018 Jeep JL Rubicon & 2004 Jeep TJ. Previously owned 1993 Cherokee, 1980 CJ5, & M151A2 while in the Military. For the love of Jeeps !
Your Rubicon will look stupid if you put street tires on it. Like I said above today's all terrains ride just fine on the street
Not neccassarily, when I lived in Missouri I had a neighbor who ran a large set of Bias ply street tires on his jeep two seasons out of the year. The gentleman took good care of his jeep and it looked Good with the street tires on it. During fall and Winter (Hunting Season) he would switch to Mud Terrian Tires. His jeep was a daily driver and he was well liked and his jeep was the envy of everyone in the neighborhood. It looked equally well with his daily driver wheels on it....or...with the Mud Terrian wheels on it.
Point being: Enjoy your JL....Put whatever wheels on it that you have a liking to, and worry NOT about somebody else's opinion of what they think looks appropriate or not.

I feel like the stock Rubi tires ARE highway/street tires :cwl:...but I prefer a chunky mud terrain, like Nitto Mud Grapplers. My JLUR is my daily driver and will still be when I get bigger chunkier tires. Also...my kiddos and wife love it. So it’s family friendly in my house.

I've had 8 jeeps or so. The ruby used to come with mud terrain tires which performed not so well on the street and especially in the rain. This is the first year the ruby comes with all terrain tires standard. They're really nice and perfect imo for a daily driver and most off-road applications.
