I've heard of other people going this route as well. I have the JB4 and plan on installing it just to see if I like it. If not, I'll just sell it and go a route like this. How much are they charging for their tune? Saw the thread was 28 pages so was hoping you might have a quicker answer. haha. Thanks for all the info.I've used piggyback tuners, and investigated the same for the 2.0T in my JLU.
From experience, I had guessed that any such plug-and-play fitments for the Jeep would do little more than faff about with the fueling and the boost, and little or nothing else, to deliver performance gains. My research confirmed this reality. I therefore decided that if was going to chase such gains, I'd eventually invest in a full tune via a modified ECU. This is what I'm currently keeping in mind.
Piggybacks have their place, and in isolation I've no complaints about the simple solution that they provide. I'm now just seeking to take a holistic approach, one that in my mind has a long-term and beneficial effect on the continued health of the powertrain.
Best of luck with your choice(s) here. ?
