I was out driving around a couple weekends ago and found that my fan wouldn’t turn off. I was on a mountain pass in CO and it was 58 degrees outside and I was driving 60 and the fan was running. That doesn’t make sense. I feel like 60mph with 58 degree air would be enough to keep things cool. I turned on the OffRoad Pages screen and did indeed see the temps keep creeping up. Then the fan would come on and they’d go down and then repeat that cycle over and over, it never stopped.

Not sure if this has been suggested, I've used Redline Water Wetter for years and it works well to lower operating temperatures. Had over heating issues with an off road vehicle, added water wetter and it was enough of a difference to solve the over heating 100%.

I too am curious out Redline Water Wetter. I could fine nothing online about specific compatibility with Mopar OAT specification MS.90032 coolant but did select my exact vehicle from Redline's vehicle selector and it says it is compatible. Most everyone who uses this product say it works.

I've been using water wetter for about 7k miles now.

My max temps dropped from 225-ish to about 217. The really annoying fan comes on about half as often.

How do u guys know what the fan speed is? All I know is the cooling system definitely is wimpy and I'm in upstate NY! My 2 week old 23 JLR boiled over at my last stop running a few errands around town (The bar gauge on the dash never changed from normal.) but the pressure cap was barely snug. Tightened it and no more boil overs but I've been watching the digital display in the off road app and that changes! Easy on the throttle stop and go driving and it runs 225, not good unless ur pulling a load maybe. On the highway it stays under 205 even accelerating up hill. And that was before I put on my bumper and winch. Not enough air flow so I'm looking for a higher CFM fan too.

One thing that I've done, and it has driven operating temps down in all conditions, is swapping out the exhaust for the Borla climber touring exhaust.

I read an article about how the engineers at FCA were able to get the 7k tow capability in the Gladiator. They had to open the grill grates by making the slots slightly wider and the grate "screen" with larger openings. The basic grill panel is the same, but the slot inserts don't intrude as much into the slot. So all that is needed to go to the Gladiator grill setup, is the slot inserts and the grating/screen. They also increased the fan cfm capability. IIRC, the radiator stayed the same as the Wrangler. So, just the grill mod and replacing the fan with a Gladiator fan should get you a good improvement in cooling.

These mods should also help avoid some overheating issues reported about the power steering.

I haven't read anything about what the 392 grill, radiator or fan configuration differences are. But a 392 radiator is a different part number than my 3.6L and it's about $20 less than the Poison Spider louvers, when purchased from an online Mopar retailer.
I have a Gladiator grill on my Jeep, but it was more for looks. I usually run at 195 temp but haven't done any rock climbing.

I tow a small camper (1360lbs)behind my Jeep, and it doesn’t like it too much. I have figured out as well as many, FCA needs to install a larger radiator and improve airflow.
I removed the honeycomb from my grill and that helped out a lot at interstate speeds. I may be installing the bigger radiator , and trans cooler.

does anyone know if the fan can be reprogrammed?

If you don’t live in a really cold climate or if you don’t mine changing fluids on seasons then there is a cheap solution. Dump out 3/4 of you radiator fluid and put in distilled water. Common misconception is that antifreeze aids in cooling, it doesn’t. Antifreeze doesn’t cool well at all, pure water does tho. You just need enough antifreeze for you weather and it lubes certain things if they aren’t electric. So here in south Texas I could probably get away with a 90/10 or 85/15 water to antifreeze mix and it would cool a lot better.

Swapped to the Gladiator inserts. The jet engine fan comes on a lot when wheeling. My hope is that this helps. The underhood heat is insane too with these 2.0s. I may consider modding the hood vents to be functional.

Two of the clips where different and unusable on the JT grille but there seems to be enough others and especially with the screws that it should be fine.

I would think it would help on the highway….not so much going slow.

Right but it would help when the fan turns on. Should in theory be able to have the fan either on for less time or the fan at a lower speed.

More air flow helps. Whether going down the interstate or crawling where the fan has to provide the flow.

I'm going to order the 850w fan for my 2018 3.6L and the inserts. I looked at all the Gladiator P/Ns and was having trouble making heads or tales of them. They were different part numbers than the 2.0L 850w for my model year.

The only caution I would add is that the antifreeze contains a anti-corrosion agent. I think you can find a product to add to the water in small quantity that will do the job.
