Jet Performance makes a throttle body for our Jeeps. If you go the the website and order through them they are offering 34% off. I installed it in mine more for smoother drivability.

I found a place that will bore-out the OEM 64mm throttle body to 68mm, which is about a 12.9% increase in surface area. Anyone ever done this? I assume it would require remapping.

Stock throttle body for reference:

Bear in mind when you bore out you may reduce the air velocity.

There is a fine line between too little and too much. That said my experience has been and this true that most automakers do not optimize the engine. This is driven by GOVT rules and regs to get better mpg etc.

Everyone thinks bigger is better and surely in many cases it is but I can assure you not always especially when working with Exhaust and intake.

Was talking to a buddy and he told me he had just put a custom 5 in exhaust system on his truck and it seemed there is no added performance and he thought it had been reduced.. He was right and what he did was decrease the exhaust scavenging which sucks the fuel/air mix out of the combustion chamber...

Opening your TB up by 12.9% MAY slow the intake charge going into the combustion chamber.

If you think in terms of exhaust the smaller the exit tube the higher the back pressure Vs larger the tube the lower the back pressure. What you are looking for is the Goldilocks number. Not too cold, not to hot, just right.

You may want to ask if they have had any flow bench & dyno testing done on a Jeep with this mod, if not I would pass.

Your wallet your Jeep do as you see fit and I will back you when you do.

For the 2.0? I can't find anything listed on their website.

DAs noted, balancing intake/exhaust is a pretty delicate thing on modern engines. Be sure it’s what you want, not snake oil. As noted “bigger” MAY not be better.. I’d want several positive reviews on identical vehicles/engines if it was me. Your nickel, but caveat emptor
