Does the swaybar disconnect no longer work up to 30MPH? My buddy bought a Tazer and it always reconnects at 18MPH or whatever stock speed is. We've tried unmarring, marring, updated to 11.1.6 the other day (I see 11.1.7 is released, but only mentions boost readout was added).

I’m not sure about the normal mode, but I just mapped Swaykill to one of the cruise buttons, and you can go as fast as you want with it disconnected. Pretty simple, too.

Do I need a PC computer to use the taser ? I only have ipad
Hopefully you have a friend that has a computer. If you do, go over their house and install the updated on their computer. Once it’s updated, delete the software and you’ll be good to go.

Sure as long as you unmarry it from your vehicle first, which will revert any changes you used the Tazer to make to your vehicle, such as tire size changes.

Short answer, no. You'd have to unmarry from his JL for YOU to use again and that would remove the changes. For JL owners that go with bigger tires, this IS a cost of that upgrade. Or you could pay the dealer more, but I prefer to save money when I can.

Exactly. And YOURS will revert when you unmarry to move the Tazer to his.

I’m sorry I’m not real technical but this is what I’m understanding. IF you don’t unmarry the Tazer it will not work on another Jeep. So if I did change his tire size and did not unmarry from my friends Jeep it would be useless to my Jeep? And when I do unmarry from a Jeep all the changes made revert back to stock?

Correct. These devices ONLY work on ONE vehicle at a time. To work in another vehicle, you need to unmarry from the current vehicle, but it will revert to stock settings the current vehicle. The device retains the settings for the vehicle is it MARRIED to. Unmarry and the settings go back to stock.

So I have a question. I have all the settings the way that I want with my tazer. I don't use any live features and never have it plugged in.
If this is the case do I /can I just plug the connector back into the jeep when I take it to the dealer?

First, the SGW module above the OBD2 diagnostic connector needs to be unplugged, and the SGW bypass block needs to be plugged in its place. Simply locate the SGW and unplug its two connectors by pressing the tab with your index finger and gently pulling straight down on the wires.

What I am asking I guess is when my settings are all like I want them can I unplug the SGW bypass block and then plug it back into the factory location? Does the bypass block have to be plugged in all the time to keep my settings? I do not use any live features at all and never have the Tazer plugged in..

Thanks

You should unmarry before going to the dealer. Why? Marrying takes a copy of the factory flash (or a portion... I’ve no idea as I’ve not seen the code, but Joe said as much in some very old thread). Umarrying puts it back. This matters in the *very unlikely* event that your dealer applies new software as a part of a TSB; when you eventually unmarry, that dealer update would get overwritten.

Other option is to just tell the dealer it’s there and ask if they will be applying any updates. Their Wi-Tech scanner should work just fine with the Tazer in place, FWIW. In another 6,000 miles I’m out of warranty and will no longer bother unplugging mine after that. (Unlikely I’ll even go to a dealer for service unless there’s a recall.)

I’m 99% sure you could unmarry, unplug, and leave the bypass in place. It shouldn’t affect their scanner and they won’t notice. If they did notice, just say it’s so you can use a third party diagnostic scanner. I would not utter the word programmer while under warranty, personally.
