Made a Mistake his is a 2023 Recon! Not a 2013.
Evening Folks

I have a 2019 2 door rubicon.

my question is will the suspension off a 2023 JLU Recon fit my Jeep.

also will it give me a 1.5” lift?
(like when you put a rubicon suspension on a Sahara)??

Looking for any and all info - comments

Cheers

My guess is that it would give you 1/2" additional lift over your stock Rubicon lift, not 1 1/2"

Never been a mathemascientist, but wouldn’t the bump in height from a std Rubicon to a Recon + the bump of a 4 door vs. 2 door likely net more than 1/2 inch? I know there are many other variables such as options, spring numbers , etc., to be researched, but on the surface, I have to think 1.5” is within reason?

He is looking at putting a 2dr XR lift on a 2dr Rubicon. XR lift is 1.5" over stock. Rubicon lift is 1" over stock. Difference between the two is .5". I could be wrong.

I think the Recon was a 4 door only option in 2023 and 1.5” over a std Rubicon. Combined with the 4 door “station wagon/minivan?” uplift over the “real/traditional?” 2 door, the OP‘s math probably checks out. However, I just have a spacer lift, so what the “puck“ do I know ?. Kidding aside, this is exactly why I went with a spacer lift. My garage door opening is unforgiving when it comes to my math being a little off.

You are right about the XR not being a 2dr option. Brain fart on my part. And probably correct with the rest as well.

I guess I could go measure a JLU Recon and see where it is sitting...might give me an idea where I might be at.

Just to clear some things up... there was a 2-door Rubicon Recon JL. It was basically a sticker package with red seatbelts: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...20-jeep-wrangler-rubicon-recon-edition.44247/ This is different than the 4-door only Xtreme Recon (XR) package.

4-door front springs in a similarly equipped 2-door will result in roughly 1/2" higher front ride height (haven't confirmed the rear). The 4-door front springs are a softer rate than a similarly equipped 2-door, and it does affect the handling a bit. The springs from a 392 XR are going to ride higher than other XR springs, either due to the longer free length or possible higher spring rate (haven't confirmed).

The XR shocks will need an additional 1" bump stop (the XR's bump stop is technically 1-3/8" longer, but +1" works). I recommend Metalcloak's DuroSpring.

The majority of lift kit heights are compared to stock Rubicon heights. Here are the approximate shock eye-to-eye lengths +/- 0.5"

FrontRear
Sport/Sahara18.5"21.25"
Rubicon20.0"22.5"
XR/39221.0"24.0"

You better check the clearance between the front bump stop and the front axle. Mine is supposed to be a 2023 extreme recon package, but turns out Jeep just put 35 inch tires on a stock Rubicon and then made the clearance between the front bump stop and the axle 1 inch to restrict upward movement of the axle so the tires won’t hit the fenders. Also make sure you get the bottom spring plate to restrict the amount the wheels turn so you don’t rub anything with the tires when you turn the wheels.

I would just go with a 1-1 1/2 inch teraflex spacer lift. Add metal cloak lower spring perch insulators and call it a day. Will keep your same ride feel, don't have to replace springs, shocks, trackbar etc.

Sounds too easy...But seams like the smart way to go.

Have you done this?
Why would you go with metal cloak lower spring perch?
It looks like if you use these you need to use there springs.?
Can I not just get away with the Teraflex?

Cheers
