I’m Texas he may not face charges, it depends on the circumstances. A few years ago, a man in Fort Worth went through an attempted car jacking. After the car jacker ram away the car owner retrieved his gun from his car, chased down the thief and shot and killed him. No charges were filed. I’m Texas you can use deadly force to retrieve personal property. No there will still be a legal case. The guy that did the shooting will likely face charges. He didn't engage them in the act nor was his life in danger. He tracked the guy for several miles and engaged him him when there was no immediate danger.
