Totally agree, and on that model, the button that replaces the ESS defeat is way more fun!Totally agree here. It is the dumbest invention in the history of mankind. Luckily, Jeep makes a model without ESS.

Well, since you asked....Curious what everyone’s opinion is on the start/stop function?
Not true for the eTorque it will still turn off with AC on.. depends how close the cabin is to the requested temp.Works fine for me. If I don’t want it I just turn on the a/c and it won’t engage it
Took the liberty to add a couple words in your statement... as far as I know it is unproven that ESS does anything to help mpg, and is more green, all things considered vs. an engine without ESS in real world conditions.I do know people who tolerate it more than others, and those that do tend to enjoy what perceived little gas savings and perceived positive green impact they achieve using it.
Agreed, the MT is night and day different in the manual vs the auto in regards to control. If I feel like I will not be stopped long I simply keep the clutch depressed. If I feel like it will be longer stop I let out the clutch and leave it in neutral, no worries either way.I’ve got a 6mt and the ss works great in that format. Never gets in the way
