I have a 2020 2 door Rubicon with dealer installed BDS 3.5” lift. I went up to 35” tires on stock Rubicon rims. All in all the steering is pretty good. Not as good as my stock TJ on stock sized tires but pretty good.. No death wobble ever so let’s clear that up right away!

I have read articles supporting nitrogen shocks saying they are better at radial steer correction and I have read articles that say hydraulic are better as they are not always pushing out the piston. Also, what are the pros and cons of a dual setup vs only 1 shock.

I will NOT be going to bigger tires ever. No radical rock crawling. Not going anywhere that needs a winch. Alot of winding mountain trails mostly. It’s also my mostly daily driver.

Looks to see what you guys recommend

If you want a different feel I would suggest getting the TeraFlex Falcon 3.3 adjustable shocks so that you can dial them in to what you think feels the best for daily driving, trail driving, and highway driving.

Looked at a few Adjustable Through shaft stabilizers. The Fox looks good as well.

The Fox ATS is great, I’ve used it for years, no issues….. But I want to talk about your lift….the BDS lift uses cam washers to adjust caster, they are the worst… not that they don’t work, they do to an extent, but the worst part is they oblong the hole in your frame side bracket so if you want to put in adjustable control arms you’ll have to work on those brackets……

I would recommend having your caster checked or check it yourself and see where it is….. you want it to be around 6 degrees with a 3” lift…….. My guess is that since the dealership installed it they put your caster within spec, and that’s not enough for a lifted rig…….this will have a bigger impact on your overall steering than the stabilizer………

Keep the stock stabilizer, it works fine.
My JLUR on 37s drives 100x better than my TJ on 35s.

I only upgraded to the Teraflex pass through style stabilizer because my stock one got bashed into a rock. I barely even notice a difference compared to the stock stabilizer if im being honest.

What steering issues are you trying to fix?

I'm with the others here, if there's not a problem you're trying to resolve then just keep the stock stabilizer, it works fine.

I had ordered a new steering stabilizer at the same time I ordered new 3.5" lift and new 37's, assuming I'd almost certainly need it. After I got the lift and tires installed, I returned the steering stabilizer because it just didn't seem even remotely necessary in my case; and it doesn't sound necessary in your case either.

You might want to consider an Exact Center steering stabilizer from Road Master. These make your on road ride much more pleasurable as the reduce the wandering. They have a ‘return to center’ function that returns the wheels straight when you let go of the steering wheel. Extremely happy how it improved the drive on my 2dr.

Interesting info. I don’t think there is a Jeep product out there , after market or not, that one guy loves while another guy dislikes! It was a Dodge Jeep dealership that installed the lift As it was a unit ordered for stock. Easy to tell as the unit was sold 3 months after it landed at the dealer. These guys have 3 or 4 new Rams and Wranglers all lifted and whacked out on their lots at all times. I am sure they know what they’re doing as at the end of the day, it drives nice on decent not rutted roads. Maybe I have too much money?!

So anyway, you are claiming castor should be around 6 degrees for a lifted unit and the stock setting is not enough Which I will assume is less than 6 degrees
Can you elaborate as to why lifted castor has to be more than stock? Once again, it drives quite nice as is. I am always up for learning.

I looked into those. Big long thread that turned into a toad thread for motorhomes hauling Jeeps! I ended up ordering a Fox Adjustable TR stabilizer. 24 settings so I can always be dialled in.

More flexibility for the roads vs trails. It drive pretty good right now. The one thing I noticed on the 3 companies that make the pass through, most of the non adjustable were “ a bit nicer” which supports what you found. I went with the 24 point adjustment Fox so I can be always dialed in. I have that feature on my 2022 Can Am quad and it’s nice to be able to control steering feed back on a steep Rocky Mountain slope vs 75 mph down the highway.

It is also nice when your Jeep is also a toad. As I do occasionally. The exact-center is infinitely adjustable and once you dial it in, it drives so true it is unbelievable vs. a stock set up. I don’t have any other steering stabilizer experience on my Jeep but no other stabilizer works quite like it does.
