Jeep Wrangler JL I think i need a new steering stabilizer... 20240831_082238

Pretty sure it's not doing it's job anymore. Figured I should buy a new one. Looking for suggestions... should I buy a full kit that has the stabilizer and relocation bracket in it, or are the brackets that I'm finding on Amazon acceptable when paired with a decent stabilizer bought separately? I'm 100% buying the relocation bracket, no way am I buying a new stabilizer just to smash it up also.

If you can deal with a slight pull (possibly), the AEV unit works really well, and is available for a decent price.

So I think it was pretty much toast a few months ago, and for a while my steering would randomly get stiff or loose. Now with the hole in it all the hydraulic fluid has slowly leaked out. You know what you're tires sound like when they're chirping on concrete cuz you left in it 4H accidentally? It was making those sounds while driving on dirt, only while actively turning the steering wheel. That and a tiny bit of liquid pooled underneath in the driveway, and I decided it was time lol.

MSRP for a Mopar steering damper is $40.
Ya, I could go for higher quality this time around. I'm willing to go as high as $200 or so. Especially since I have the 37s now, I'm assuming a better quality one will be noticeable.

Maybe a bit more than you planned to spend, buy I've had no issues. This one is new & shiny only because it was replaced after an accident.

Soooo I actually just made the purchase, and that's exactly what I went with =)

It didn't come with the relocation bracket, so I got the synergy one.

If you order the one for JK , it comes with track bar bolt and tie rod clamp ….

Oh well, purchase already placed, and I'm too lazy to change it =) good to know tho. I wasnt sure why the synergy bracket was so much compared to the cheaper Amazon brands. I decided to just stick with name brand, assuming it was better quality. Maybe that was a $50 mistake...
