Hot take.

"Serious" is when you're giving back to your local trails and are actively involved in fostering the best local 4x4 culture/community that can be had. It's an attitude.

You know these off-road wizard types when you meet them, and you wish you could find the time and dedication to their sport like they have.

Maybe serious offroading was the friends we made along the way.

Nope, i know what objective means, i agree with your provided definition. And i stand by my statement. I believe it to be objective. Doesn't mean it's not also debatable and not widely agreed upon. Also doesn't mean my definition is correct.
If it was subjective then apps like TOR wouldn't have subjective ratings for each that get modified based on input from those that have done the trails.

The problem there is getting everyone to agree on the parameters and definition as otherwise nothing fits the definition of objective as is an personal interpretation?
The rules for chess are objective. Arbitrary, but very much objective. The measured weight of my JLURD is objective.

Assessing the difficultly of a trail is very much subjective. Two people doing the same trail in the same vehicle can have highly varying perspectives of its difficulty.

I'm specifically calling out "the normies" who think a Wrangler is only for "serious offroading" here.
Who are these "normies" specifically, and why don't you just ask them directly?

Subjective. Someone driving a prius thinks what someone driving an outback can do is serious offroading. Someone with a built buggy they trailer in might laugh at stock rubicons. And, there are people who feel whatever serious offroading to "you" is serious offroading, it's not a dick measuring contest.
It's measuring something...Not every forum member has a penis. Well I don't think so anyway.

My wife claims tire size is inversely proportional to other sizes…not funny right?
That's why I don't want to go bigger than 35s. They'll make my peepee look small.

It's the sidewall to tire diameter ratio which is usually a better indicator.... Unless it's a full-size pickup with a 6" lift, then there's no doubt that bedtime fun is going to be disappointing, whatever tire it's got on it.

”Serious” off-roading is taking a totally ridiculous, inadequate car, throwing a few extras on it, and then taking it rock crawling.

Not a terrible photshop job. Had me looking closer after I dried the tears from my eyes.
