I was hoping for a diesel option in 2025 😂 if not that then at least give us a 5.7 Hemi option. Would be nice to have a truck that sounded like a truck and towed like a truck but also got more than 9mpg
Apr 28, 2023 - Sacramento - Today the California Air Resources Board (CARB) approved world -leading regulation to phase out the sales of medium and heavy duty combustion trucks in California by 2036 - moving the state forward on Governor Gavin Newsom’s ambitious plan to dramatically cut pollution , protect public health, and accelerate the transition to clean vehicles. CARB also approved the first-in-the-nation regulation to limit train pollution.
Known as Advanced Clean Fleets the new rule puts the state on a path ……………….

Diesel Jeep ? It won’t be long before you can’t get a diesel Peterbilt in likely 18 states including the 3 that joined CARB this year.
Diesel Train pollution ? 🚂 ?

Realistically, the 4XE upgrades would either be a bigger battery and/or electric motor, 20-25% better range. For sure they can tweak the software as well.

Battery is already taking up the full space it can from what I can see. However the buffer they leave (20%) is insane, so a simple software change can unlock more of that buffer for range.

They did the same thing on the MachE and upgraded previous model years OTA, I think Jeep is too cheap/stingy to do the same if I’m being honest but we’ll see.

Any idea when the colors will be released for 25? I want to order with GEKO but it’s such a pain in the neck figuring out when colors come

I'd love an I-6 in my next Wrangler, but be prepared to PAY. As in Hemi pricing.

Is 2 to 3 extra miles of all electric range worth the accelerated battery degradation?
I would say so, remember you only “degrade the battery” if you actually end up using the 2 to 3 miles of range.

So it would either degrade very minimally, or if you really do use the 2/3 miles then it would save you a lot of gas. Both are worth it. Besides they do this to minimize costs related to the 8 year/100k warranty, it’s not for us.

Consider: battery degradation is tantamount to range reduction. Given the 4Xe battery spec, reducing the discharge threshold may not result in any average lifetime range benefit.

Agreed on the warranty cost corporate reasoning, but for the average owner minimizing the likelihood of dealing with a battery replacement or 2 during the warranty period is likely a net positive.

There have been no indications that it'll be available in the J70 platform, at least not in the initial 2028 release.

If reports (Motortrend) of the 25 GC being 4cyl or 4Xe only prove true it is not a good indication for Wrangler.

With that in mind, and taking the long view, I've counseled my brother to keep on doing what he's doing: garaging his WK2 Trailhawk V8 every night and driving it only when the mood strikes, leaving daily driving duties to his diesel Jetta.

Yep- the new ones don’t look as good anyway IMO. (Have a 15)
Ford will still be making a powerful ICE Explorer for 25– also Bronco, V8 Mustang and V8 F150 with official superchargers available……. Meanwhile Stella ……. sad

I'm just the opposite. I DD my 392 and love every minute of it EVERY DAY (Except when I have to stop at the gas station every week). BUT Seriously. I'm getting older by the day, and Driving the 392 puts a smile on my face that only my OG CJ7 did (until I got the 392...now the CJ is WAY underpowered) I start t in the morning to wake my kids up for school. It's a win win. LOL

I heard that there's a 4" lift coilover option with portals and 44" bfg KO3 that will be offered as the Uber-Xtreme Recon. With the previously mentioned V8 hybrid option to get the Hellcat edition.
