Hi Steven, One thing i noticed was the bars on the Mule rack don't have any t slots for mounting accessories. How are you able to mount the rotopacks or other accessories? did you end up drilling holes to put mounts in? I really love the way this rack looks but am hesitant due to the lack of built-in slots... Trying to decide between this and the Uptop Overland Bravo which is similarly priced(slightly cheaper actually) but seems to have slots on the bars and some light mounting options.

Beautiful build btw and great review videos! Getting a lot of inspiration here :)
Hi Shamu! To mount the RotoPax I did drill the cross bars to bolt the mounts to them(after careful layout). For my other cargo, I used a GoWesty cargo net. I think you saw the video on how I mounted my shovel?

Hey Steven. It’s come a long way. Thanks again for sharing your build from flying out and picking up to where it is now!
Any chance you have the vid uploaded for your fender chop?

Hi Mike! Funny you should ask, working on the fender chop video today. Work/life has been a schedule wrecker lately.

I'm hoping to have it completed very soon. Stay tuned.

Up next, new ball joints. I just turned 36K mi. and on 37's have done some good wheeling trips as well using my Jeep as my daily driver.

My steering (Metalcloak full steering linkage) has always felt direct with no wandering/vagueness at all. I'm starting to feel a little bit less feedback in the steering. Steering feels a touch light and I suspect I'm getting some wear in the stock ball joints.

So, here's the plan. Upgrade the stock ball joints with Dynatac HD Ball Joints.

Once I get these installed, I'll post up my results. Stay tuned!

Hey brother,
keep an eye out for signs of wallowing on your knuckles. I recommend doing iron knuckles with the ball joints.

I did knuckles and ball joints on a customers JL a few months back, and the aluminum knuckle was wallowed a bit……… just a heads up…… for my piece of mind, I didn’t want the knuckles to be the last weak link on the front end………✌

Sage advice Roky, really appreciate it! I'm going to see if I can swing doing the knuckles at the same time.

When I saw Jeep used iron knuckles on the JT Mojave, I knew the aluminum ones on the JL were not up to the task of taking a lot of punishment.

On your set-up, are you flipped/high steer? Not sure that is necessary on the JL.
