As I gain more experience rock crawling, I wonder more about gaining benefit of disconnecting the rear swaybar. It would seem to be worthwhile.

Feedback from you experienced crawlers is appreciated.

I think having the rear disconnected forces articulation in the front. Pass.

It's such a small/weak bar, it probably doesn't really matter.

I think Rubicons don't come with a rear disconnect for a reason.
Also, I think companies don't sell rear disconnects for a reason.

That said, I'm curious. Please try.

I run my disconnect all the time rides better, I think flex’s better and cannot really tell much difference on the road, but I do not drive like it’s a sports car. I did a post about but got took it down due to all the experts telling me I was wrong, not to mention that one jokers video if you will watch and know much about ramps you can tell it’s pretty sketchy.

As a HARD CORE Rock man I did the Currie Anti Rock in front first and then kept an eye on the rear...time went by and never saw a reason to disconnect or replace the rear swaybar.

I would do the front, in fact I boght the first Currie anti rock at the Off Road Expo in Pomoma Ca.

This is what happened to it on the very first outing at Moab. I sent them a pic and they rapidly changed the design.

As is with @Old Jeeper 's experience, the stock sway bar is light enough to allow full rear articulation on ours, and heavy enough to keep the on road manners.

Not that I'm sure the video results are specifically due to the sway, remember there's more to crawling than an RTI ramp. You're only an 18mm nut and bolt away from doing a test run.

For those of us without Internet, what's the video say?

It’s the deisel one.
He goes up further on the ramp with it connected.

Somehow he also only fully stuffs in the rear with it disconnects (at least by ear). My guess is speed of the approach helps the connected one. But does go to show that staying connected helps stuff the front.

The RTI score is worse with the rear disconnected.

The reason is the higher roll stiffness of the front suspension will dominate the rear. Then the body follows the front axle instead of the rear, and runs out of rear articulation before the front has barely moved.

You want the body to follow the rear axle angle, not the front.
