Lockers in snow is really only good for donuts in 2wd.

When I'm not tearing up someone's snowy parking lot i leave the locker off and let jeeps traction control work!

Lockers are really an extreme mod. Yes, most of us have them, few of us need them.

Lockers come in handy for things like self-recovery after sliding off the road in snow. They come in handy when you need them.

True enough! If I do end up off the road, I am going to be in 4l, aired down with both lockers locked working to recover myself.
Normal driving conditions Though I would not think to engage my lockers on the road.

Until it happens. I was about 100' from our driveway when I tried to turn around. Got completely stuck, then started engaging various recovery features one by one.

And if you already had the lockers on, turning around would have gone far worse.

My point was more for the OP, there's no good reason to have lockers on at speed/ during normal driving. Not in the snow, not in the trails, not in the sand. Use when needed.

Nope. Wouldn't have been able to see it even if it was directly in front of our place. 15 to 20' drop from our driveway to the road. That can be a bit frightening since the driveway is barely wider than the Wrangler and it's narrowest at the corner that drops off. Dirt roads and definitely not in Suburbia.

Weird. If I'm on a dirt road I'm usually in 4wd for the way it handles. I'll have to try it in 2wd next time.

I tested it this am: 17 mph in 4Hi.

So, the automatic 30 mph limit is 2WD only.
