@PA-Punkn if you're looking to check out the benefits of yellow/amber lights in wet/fog/snow... i'd say that the Lamin-x fog light covers are the best $15 i've spent on my Jeep so far. I got the Yellow and love them when the weather gets bad.

These will be bright white, LED's ...flooded. Guy's, gals here want as b/u lights.
Many guys will end up pulling the rear bumper to install. The LED light will have two wires coming out of it. You will splice them into your tail lights or into the b/u wire on the tow package 6 pin, if you have the tow package.

IF you are looking for say smoked led lights to replace the rear reflectors, you can find Chinese offerings on Amazon, etc...

I was offered a free set of these smoked, LED, reflector replacement's by the Chinese manufacturer but I declined.. Yes, free. I decided to iffy a product for me to pull my rear bumper and install ..

Although I would like to be able to “dual” use these - i.e. (1) auto on in reverse but (2) also be able to “hard” switch them on. Will this be possible? I have no tow package and dont plan on one.

Well, on with reverse will be easy easy even if you do not have the tow package.

As far as on with reverse, and then "hard" switch them as you call i...... sure, you just have to have a switched 12v source going to them too.. With this setup, you would need two diodes in the mix or Can Bus may have a pissy fit.

Read at this thread ... this LED light offering that replaces the rear reflectors would be wired up the same as described for the b/u lights that also can be "hard" switched as you say..

I'd much rather have them all white for the extra brightness in reverse. My brake lights are plenty bright already.
