Just sprayed the crap out of my engine bay with peppermint spray yesterday, top of battery covered with acorn and seeds the next day!!! Chipmunks or mice!!

Guess peppermint spray only works for some folks? Third type of peppermint spray, they seem to like it!! Smells good to us, easier than changing air filters!! Doesn’t work for Shute for me!! LOL NOT SO MUCH!

Go Jeep!!!
Maybe the remnants are from Christmas elves, not rodents? ?

Snakes, put a couple snakes in there.
I was gonna say keep a cat in the engine bay... but snakes work.

Otherwise... you could:

1.) Ask the rats to help you move...
2.) Ask them if they've found Jesus...
3.) Offer to share your views on the current political climate...

If you have mice, you just might have a snake in the area, I did.

Like @kah.mun.rah mentioned, hose down the hood insulation and I also blast the inside & outside of the front wheels, I have to assume that's where the little rat bastards start their ascent.

Fyi, I've been using this product ? to make my own peppermint spray, it is significantly less expensive, and it's been 100% effective. I've made two 20 oz bottles, with roughly 30-40% remaining.

This morning while sitting on the porch having coffee, I saw what looked like a small wood rat approaching my Jeep. Of course my first thought was to chase it off but I decided to wait and see how it played out. Sure enough it went right for the front wheel, I assume it got a whiff of the peppermint spray because it stopped and rubbed it's face for a few seconds like someone just rubbed cat shit in his face and he took off in the opposite direction. Success on the peppermint spray, I didn't realize they found it to be so repugnant.

I elect a note for the chipmunks on a dryer sheet sprayed with peppermint if they could remove my discontinued aux battery? Then I wouldn’t hafta remove fender or fender liner!! I think the creatures entering my engine bay are smarter then Jeep ESS engineers!!!! So maybe they can make it happen? LOL

Go Jeep!!!

I can just imagine those rats chewing their way into your tent "to snuggle".
Many years ago, I was sleeping on the ground, on a ledge over Lake Powell. In the middle of the night, I felt something on my neck. I reached up and grabbed a handful of lizard. Realizing what I had in the dark, I tossed it over the ledge into the lake.

When I store my Jeep for the winter I use these scattered around. Never had a problem. My brother uses them on the farm when storing his boat. They have a couple of different in them. Got them on Amazon.

I live up in the mountains with lots of mice and rats. Up here they put dryer sheets in the places under the hood they like. I had a couple in the space around my battery making a nest out of the battery cover. Cleaned it out and put a few dryer sheets in there and haven't seen any since.
I have not hear of this before, sounds like and easy fix.

Glad you didn't have any damage! I wasn't so lucky. Squirrels chewed my fuel lines. Gas sprayed all over! Sprayed onto my undercoating which ran all over the driveway. Had it towed to the dealership. 1 month later and dropping the trans to replace the fuel lines I got it back. I went to war on their asses! Got me a pellet rifle like I had as a kid and have popped so many, they aren't in the front yard anymore. Also put my silencer on my .22. {no further comment}. I bought an ultrasonic rodent repellent that is motion activated. Reading this thread reminded me to spray some Squirrel stop up under the jeep. Smells just like skunk.
The war continues.....
