Please share your expertise on the subject as to Max PSI with Beadlocks.
Looking at RaceLine RT232 Monster Beadlocks, they state 25 PSI. Currently running with Nitto Recon Grapplers (37x12.5 R17). Will these be a performance mistake, (MPG) given 90% of my driving is highway to and from work during the week days at 25PSI.
Are all the the Jeeps i see on the road with Beadlocks really running with 25 PSI?

Also running Dirty Life bead locks, been running 30-31 psi warmed up for 6 years , no issues and tires are wearing great…. Don’t know anything about fuel efficiency, don’t care…🤣
Started at 36-38 from my installer, chalked the tires and settled on 27-28 for tire wear

running a 42 pound wheel if you don't 100% need the beadlock is a giant mistake.

Might want to check Method Bead Grip wheels - much lighter than normal beadlocks.

Watch this video. It taught me a lot about airing down, and also made me rethink my street psi. From the high teens to 30+, there isn’t a lot of difference in how much tread (surface area) is in contact with the ground. I used to air my 39’s up to 38psi for road trips, but recently have experimented with 25psi and 35psi, and I don’t notice any difference in mpg. But it does ride way smoother at the lower psi.

If we all looked into what we 100% needed vs what we wanted the Geo Metro 5 door would have been the best selling car of all time

you can get 85% of the functionality of a beadlock with the method beadgrips and save 12 pounds a wheel.
Heaving a 120 pound spare onto the back of a wrangler sucks in the best of conditions.

If the OP wasn't complaining about gas mileage with the 25PSI max comment, it would be a do what you want, but running beadlocks and worrying about mileage aren't in the same universe.

At 30ish lbs per wheel, with a 37" tire, you're still looking at like 110+lbs for the combo. It's gonna suck whether you're rocking beadlocks, beadgrips, or normal wheels.

True, but 12 pounds is 12 pounds..
And 12 more pounds of tire and wheel weight is going to affect the way it rides, drives, accelerates and stops. All negatively.

And a bigger tire is like 40lbs of negative ride and drive (though I'd dispute this one, getting the air pressure dialed on a bigger tire can lead to a fantastic ride), accelerate, and stop per axle. So by that logic, we should be downsizing tires, right?

Plus, you can get beadlocks in the 30lb range - my KMC Riots are like 30 or 32 lbs.

37" tires should be run at around 20-22 PSI based on their load capacity anyway, so a beadlock wheel limit of 25 PSI is a non-issue because if you need beadlocks, you're going to be running a large >37" tire. At least if you bought beadlocks for actual performance reasons rather than looking cool.

Lots of people on here like to overinflate their 37" tires. Can't do that with beadlocks.

a bigger tire can do things a smaller tire cant and gains additional clearance in places that it can't be accomplished otherwise (unless you wanna talk about portals)

bigger tires are a necessity for a bunch of different types of wheeling, where a 42# wheel isn't... be obtuse if you want..

I've never been on a trail that said 42# wheels or beadlocks recommended, but I've been on a bunch that said 35" tires minimum and locker recommended.
